As soon as all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan for the people of Israel until they had crossed over, their hearts melted and there was no longer any spirit in them because of the people of Israel.

When all the Amorite kings west of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings who lived along the Mediterranean coast heard how the Lord had dried up the Jordan River so the people of Israel could cross, they lost heart and were paralyzed with fear because of them.

When all the Amorite kings across the Jordan to the west and all the Canaanite kings near the sea heard how the LORD had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites until they had crossed over, they lost heart and their courage failed because of the Israelites.

Now it came about when all the kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan to the west, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard how the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan before the sons of Israel until they had crossed, that their hearts melted, and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the sons of Israel.

When all the Amorite kings on the west side of the Jordan and all the Canaanite kings along the seacoast heard how the LORD had dried up the water of the Jordan before the Israelites while they crossed, they lost their courage and could not even breathe for fear of the Israelites.

When all the kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, who were by the sea, heard how Yahweh had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, their heart melted, and there was no more spirit in them, because of the children of Israel.

亞瑪力人住在南地，赫人、耶布斯人和亞摩利人住在山區，迦南人住在海邊和約旦河沿岸。」

我要派黃蜂做你的先鋒，趕走那些希未人、迦南人和赫人。

你要告訴她，主耶和華這樣對她說，『你祖居迦南，生於迦南。你的父親是亞摩利人，母親是赫人。

迦薩必被拋棄，亞實基倫必淪為廢墟，亞實突的居民必在中午被趕走，以革倫必被連根拔除。住在海邊的基利提人啊，你們有禍了！非利士人的土地——迦南啊，耶和華宣告要毀滅你，使你杳無人煙。沿海地區必成為草場，有牧人的居所和羊圈。

這些王是耶利哥王、伯特利附近的艾王、耶路撒冷王、希伯崙王、耶末王、拉吉王、伊磯倫王、基色王、底璧王、基德王、何珥瑪王、亞拉得王、立拿王、亞杜蘭王、瑪基大王、伯特利王、他普亞王、希弗王、亞弗王、拉沙崙王、瑪頓王、夏瑣王、伸崙·米崙王、押煞王、他納王、米吉多王、基低斯王、迦密附近的約念王、多珥山上的多珥王、吉甲的戈印王、得撒王，共三十一個王。

世上的君王一同聚集，前來攻城。他們看見這城後，大驚失色，慌忙逃跑。他們被恐懼籠罩，痛苦如分娩的婦人。

他們對她所受的災禍充滿恐懼，就遠遠地站著說，『強大堅固的巴比倫城啊，真悲慘！真悲慘！因為審判頃刻間臨到你了。』

「以色列人啊，我在你們面前消滅了亞摩利人。雖然他們像香柏樹那樣高大，如橡樹那樣強壯，但我滅盡了他們的果子，砍斷了他們的根。

原來基遍人不是以色列人，他們是亞摩利人的遺民。以色列人曾起誓不傷害他們，但掃羅為以色列人和猶大人發熱心，試圖剷除基遍人。大衛就召來基遍人，

耶和華把他們交在統治夏瑣的迦南王耶賓手中。耶賓王的將軍叫西西拉，住在夏羅設。

次日清晨，拿八酒醒以後，他妻子把發生的一切告訴他，他嚇得昏死過去，身體僵硬如石。

臉色驟變，驚恐萬分，兩腿發軟，雙膝顫抖。

各邦各族聽見這些事就發抖，非利士人也痛苦不堪，以東的族長惶恐，摩押的英雄顫慄，迦南的居民都膽戰心驚。

既然是以色列的上帝耶和華為祂的以色列子民趕走了亞摩利人，你憑什麼要奪取這塊土地？

約書亞去世以後，以色列人求問耶和華：「我們哪一個支派先上去攻打迦南人呢？」

迦南生長子西頓和次子赫，他的後代還有耶布斯人、亞摩利人、革迦撒人、希未人、亞基人、西尼人、亞瓦底人、洗瑪利人和哈馬人。後來迦南各宗族散居在各地。迦南的疆域從西頓向基拉耳延伸，遠至迦薩，再向所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁延伸，遠至拉沙。

如果你們不願意事奉耶和華，今天就選擇你們的神明吧，或大河那邊你們祖先事奉的神明，或你們這裡亞摩利人的神明。至於我和我全家，我們必事奉耶和華。」

如果有人問你為什麼哀歎，你就說有噩耗傳來，聽見的人都膽戰心驚、兩手發軟、精神萎靡、膝弱如水。災難必很快發生。這是主耶和華說的。」

山區也要分給你們，雖然全是森林，但可以開闢土地，使整個地區歸你們。雖然迦南人強盛，有鐵戰車，但你們能夠趕走他們。」

這些事以後，眾首領來告訴我說：「以色列民眾、祭司和利未人還沒有與當地各族分開，他們仍隨從迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人和亞摩利人的可憎行為。

哀號吧！耶和華的日子近了，全能者施行毀滅的時候到了。人們都必雙手發軟，膽戰心驚，驚恐萬狀，痛苦不堪如同分娩的婦人。他們必面面相覷，羞愧得面如火燒。

就在那天，耶和華跟亞伯蘭立約，說：「我必將這片土地賜給你的後代，使他們得到從埃及河到幼發拉底河一帶的土地，就是基尼人、基尼洗人、甲摩尼人、赫人、比利洗人、利乏音人、亞摩利人、迦南人、革迦撒人和耶布斯人的土地。」

我要把我用刀和弓從亞摩利人手上奪來的那塊地留給你，讓你比其他弟兄多得一份。」

亞伯蘭繼續前行，來到示劍的摩利橡樹那裡。當時迦南人住在那地方。

五個非利士王、所有的迦南人、西頓人和住在巴力·黑門山到哈馬口一帶的黎巴嫩山區的希未人。

可是，瑪拿西人沒能把這些城邑的迦南人趕走，因為他們執意不肯離開。
