But I took your father Abraham from the land beyond the Euphrates and led him throughout Canaan and gave him many descendants. I gave him Isaac,

I took your father Abraham from the land east of the Euphrates. I led him all through Canaan. I gave him many children and grandchildren. I gave him Isaac.

耶和華諭亞伯蘭云、爾可出故土、離戚族、遠父家、往我所示之地。我將使爾後成為大邦、錫嘏於爾、畀爾顯名、必蒙綏祉。祝爾者吾亦祝之、詛爾者吾亦詛之、天下兆民、將藉爾受福焉。亞伯蘭循耶和華命而往、羅得偕行、其離哈蘭也、年七十有五。

曰、諸父兄弟聽之、昔我祖亞伯拉罕、在米所波大米、未居哈蘭時、榮光之上帝見、曰、出故土、離戚族、往我所示之地、

故亞伯拉罕年雖耄耋、而撒拉懷妊、屆上帝所言之期、誕生男子。亞伯拉罕、以撒拉所生子、命名以撒、

人生子女、耶和華所賜、婦女產育、皆彼賞賚兮、

上帝耶和華與、昔爾簡亞伯蘭、導出迦勒底之耳邑、錫名亞伯拉罕。爾察其心、知彼竭忠、故與之約、以迦南人、赫人、亞摩哩人、比哩洗人、耶布士人、革迦西人之地、錫其苗裔、爾真實無妄、言出惟行。

遂攜之門外曰、仰觀乎天、眾星可悉數與。又曰、汝苗裔必如是。
