如果你们悖逆，跟你们当中剩下的异族人联合，通婚往来，毫无疑问，你们的上帝耶和华必不再为你们赶走他们。相反，他们还要成为设在你们当中的圈套和陷阱，你们的肉中刺、眼中钉，直到你们在你们的上帝耶和华所赐给你们的这块美好的土地上灭亡。

一定要赶走当地的居民，毁掉他们一切的石像和铸像，拆毁他们所有的丘坛。你们要占领那片土地，住在那里，因为我已经把那里赐给你们作产业了。

我会逐渐地赶走他们，直到你们人丁兴旺，可以占据那片土地。我给你定下国界，从红海到非利士海岸，从旷野到幼发拉底河。我要把其中所有的人都交在你手中，你要把他们全部赶出去。
