When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the community— the heads of the clans of the Israelites— heard what Reuben, Gad and Manasseh had to say, they were pleased.

Phinehas the priest heard what the tribes of Reuben, Gad and Manasseh had to say. The leaders of the family groups of the community of Israel heard it too. All of them were pleased with what they heard.

When Phinehas the priest and the chiefs of the congregation, the heads of the families of Israel who were with him, heard the words that the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the people of Manasseh spoke, it was good in their eyes.

When Phinehas the priest and the leaders of the community— the heads of the clans of Israel— heard this from the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and the half tribe of Manasseh, they were satisfied.

When the priest Phinehas and the community leaders, the heads of Israel’s clans who were with him, heard what the descendants of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh had to say, they were pleased.

And when Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation and heads of the thousands of Israel which[ were] with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spake, it pleased them.

When Phinehas the priest and the community leaders and clan leaders who accompanied him heard the defense of the Reubenites, Gadites, and the Manassehites, they were satisfied.

When Phinehas the priest, and the princes of the congregation, even the heads of the thousands of Israel that were with him, heard the words that the children of Reuben and the children of Gad and the children of Manasseh spoke, it pleased them well.

以色列人以這事為美，就稱頌神，不再提上去攻打呂便人、迦得人、毀壞他們所住的地了。

以掃就曉得他父親以撒看不中迦南的女子，

亞吉叫大衛來，對他說：「我指着永生的耶和華起誓，你是正直人。你隨我在軍中出入，我看你甚好。自從你投奔我到如今，我未曾見你有甚麼過失；只是眾首領不喜悅你。

大衛對亞比該說：「耶和華－以色列的神是應當稱頌的，因為他今日使你來迎接我。你和你的見識也當稱讚；因為你今日攔阻我親手報仇、流人的血。

回答柔和，使怒消退；言語暴戾，觸動怒氣。

王和眾首領都以米母干的話為美，王就照這話去行，

眾人聽見這話，就不言語了，只歸榮耀與神，說：「這樣看來，神也賜恩給外邦人，叫他們悔改得生命了。」

神已將米甸人的兩個首領俄立和西伊伯交在你們手中；我所行的豈能比你們所行的呢？」基甸說了這話，以法蓮人的怒氣就消了。

王與全會眾都以這事為善。
