昔在比耳、我儕犯罪、耶和華降災會眾、至今罪未盡赦、其事豈微細哉。

Was not the sin of Peor enough for us? Up to this very day we have not cleansed ourselves from that sin, even though a plague fell on the community of the Lord!

Don’t you remember how we sinned at Peor? The Lord struck us with a plague because of what we did. Up to this day we’re still suffering because of that sin.

彼等遇此諸事、皆可以為鑒、且書之於經、以警我儕末世之人、

亦勿行淫、如彼中有人行淫、一日殞亡二萬三千人、

我天主歟、我因惡行大罪、遭遇此事之後、我天主仍惜我、雖罰我、猶不及我罪、雖罰我猶不及我罪或作不按我重罪而罰我賜我如斯之拯救、我儕豈可復違主命、與行此可憎事之諸族通嫁娶、苟如是行、必干主震怒、滅我淨盡、不遺一人得免、
