The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands.

這樣，約書亞奪取了那一帶全地，都照永恆主所告訴摩西的；約書亞按族派照分配辦法將地給了以色列人做產業。於是遍地太平、沒有戰爭。

是永恆主你的上帝他要在你前面過去，他要從你面前消滅這些國的人，使你去取得他們的地；是約書亞要在你前面過去，照永恆主所說過的。永恆主必辦他們，如同從前辦他所消滅的亞摩利人兩個王西宏跟噩、以及他們的國一樣。永恆主必將他們交在你們面前，你們要照我所吩咐你們的一切命令去處置他們。

這樣看來，就有一個安息日式的安息為上帝的子民保留着了。

永恆主你的上帝必將這些國的人從你面前漸漸肅清；你不能迅速地把他們滅盡，恐怕野地裏的獸多起來來害你。永恆主你的上帝必將他們交在你面前，使他們大大驚慌潰亂，直到他們都消滅。他也必將他們的王交在你手中；你就從天下除滅他們的名；必沒有一個人能在你面前站立得住，直到你把他們都消滅掉。

我必定你的境界，從蘆葦海直到非利士海，從曠野直到大河。我必將那地的居民交在你手中，使你將他們從你面前趕出去。

等到永恆主把你們的族弟兄安頓好了，像把你們安頓好了一樣，而他們卻取得了永恆主你們的上帝所賜給他們的地了，然後你們才可以回到你們的基業地、去取得它；那地就是永恆主的僕人摩西在約但河東邊、日出的方向、所給你們的。』

如今永恆主你們的上帝已照他所應許過你們的、把你們的族弟兄安頓好了，如今你們可以回你們家去，到你們自己擁為產業之地那裏，就是永恆主的僕人摩西在約但河東邊所賜給你們的。

『你們要記得永恆主的僕人摩西所吩咐你們的話、說：「永恆主你們的上帝把你們安頓好了，就必將這地賜給你們。」

於是如便人、迦得人、和瑪拿西半族派的人、從迦南地的示羅起行，離開以色列人，回他們擁為產業之地的基列地去，就是照永恆主由摩西經手所吩咐、讓他們擁為產業的地方。
