The Lord gave them rest on every side, just as he had sworn to their ancestors. Not one of their enemies withstood them; the Lord gave all their enemies into their hands.

這樣，約書亞照著耶和華吩咐摩西的一切話，奪取了那全地；於是，約書亞按著以色列的支派把地分給他們作產業。全地也就止息了戰爭。

耶和華你的神要親自領你們過去，從你們面前消滅這些國的民，使你們得著他們的地，照著耶和華說過的，約書亞要親自領你們過去。耶和華對待他們，必好像從前對待他消滅的亞摩利人的兩個王西宏和噩，以及他們的國一樣。耶和華必把他們交給你們，你們照著我吩咐你們的一切命令對待他們。

這樣看來，為了神的子民，必定另外有一個“安息日”的安息保留下來。

耶和華你的神必把這些國的民，從你面前漸漸趕出去；你不可以把他們迅速地滅盡，恐怕田間的野獸多起來害你。耶和華你的神必把他們交在你面前，使他們大起擾亂，直到他們全被消滅。他也必把他們的君王交在你的手中，你必使他們的名從天下消滅；必沒有一人能在你面前站立得住，直到你把他們都消滅了。

我要限定你的境界，從紅海直到非利士海，從曠野直到大河。我要把那地的居民交在你手中，你要把他們從你面前驅逐出去。

等到耶和華使你們的兄弟可以和你們一樣安居，同樣得著耶和華你們的神要賜給他們作產業的地，你們才可以回到你們所得的地，以它作你們的產業，就是耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東邊日出之地賜給你們的地方。”

現在耶和華你們的神，照著他應許的，已經使你們兄弟得享平安；現在你們可以返回自己家裡，回到耶和華的僕人摩西在約旦河東賜給你們作產業的地方去。

“你們要記住耶和華的僕人摩西吩咐你們的話：‘耶和華你們的神賜你們安息，他必把這地賜給你們。’

於是流本人、迦得人和瑪拿西半個支派的人，從迦南地的示羅起程，離開以色列人，回到他們所得的產業基列地去，就是照著耶和華藉著摩西所吩咐，賜給他們的產業。
