but the forested hill country as well. Clear it, and its farthest limits will be yours; though the Canaanites have chariots fitted with iron and though they are strong, you can drive them out.”

You will also have the central hill country. It’s covered with trees. Cut them down and clear the land. That whole land from one end to the other will belong to you. The Canaanites use chariots that have iron parts. And those people are strong. But you can drive them out.”

but the hill country shall be yours, for though it is a forest, you shall clear it and possess it to its farthest borders. For you shall drive out the Canaanites, though they have chariots of iron, and though they are strong.”

The forests of the hill country will be yours as well. Clear as much of the land as you wish, and take possession of its farthest corners. And you will drive out the Canaanites from the valleys, too, even though they are strong and have iron chariots.”

既然如此，對這些事我們可怎麼說呢？上帝若為我們，誰能敵我們呢？

所以我們可以放膽說：『主是援助我的，我必不懼怕；人能把我怎麼樣呢？』

不；在這一切事上、我們藉着那愛了我們的、倒是得勝有餘了。

窺探那地的人之中、嫩的兒子約書亞和耶孚尼的兒子迦勒、就撕裂衣服，對以色列人全會眾說：『我們所經過而窺探的地、是極其美好之地。永恆主若喜愛我們，他就會領我們進那地、把地賜給我們、就是流奶與蜜之地。只是你們不可背叛永恆主，也不要怕那地的人民，因為他們是我們所可喫的；並且蔭庇他們的已經離開他們，而永恆主卻和我們同在；不要怕他們。』

『你出去對你仇敵爭戰的時候，看見馬匹、車輛、人民、比你大，你不要怕他們；因為是永恆主你的上帝、那領你從埃及地上來的、與你同在。你們將近上戰場的時候，祭司要走近前去，向人民講話，對他們說：「以色列啊，聽吧；今天你們將近要對仇敵爭戰，可不要膽怯；不要懼怕，不要慌張，不要因他們而驚恐；因為是永恆主你們的上帝、他在和你們同去，為你們同仇敵交戰，來拯救你們。」

永恆主是我的光，是拯救我的；我還怕誰呢？永恆主是我性命的逃難所；我還懼怕誰呢？那作壞事的人、我的敵人、我的仇敵、走近前來攻擊我，要喫我肉的時候，他們就絆跌仆倒。

於是以色列人在拿弗他利山地把在加利利的基低斯分別出來，在以法蓮山把示劍分別出來，在猶大山地把基列亞巴、就是希伯崙、分別出來。

你不要懼怕，因為是我與你同在；不要彷徨張望，因為是我做你的上帝；我必堅固你，我一定幫助你；一定用我義氣的右手扶持你。看吧，一切向你發怒的都必失望狼狽；那些跟你相爭的人都必如同無有，歸於滅亡，那些跟你爭競的人你就尋找他們，也找不着；那些跟你爭戰的人都必如同無有，如同虛無。因為是我、永恆主你的上帝、在攙扶着你的右手，是我對你說：『不要懼怕，我必幫助你』。不要懼怕哦！蟲子雅各啊！蛆蟲以色列啊！是我要幫助你，永恆主發神諭說；贖回你者、是以色列的聖者。看吧，我必使你成為打穀器，又新、又尖銳、又有雙刃齒；你必將山嶺打碎，而壓成粉，使岡陵如同糠粃。你必簸揚它們，風必帶走，旋風必颳散；但你卻要以永恆主為喜樂，以以色列之聖者為誇耀。

這些王同他們的眾軍兵一齊出來，其人之多，就像海邊的沙那麼多；並有極多馬匹和車輛。這些王都會集攏來，一同來到米倫水邊紮營，要同以色列人交戰。永恆主對約書亞說：『你不要因他們而懼怕；因為明天大約這時候、我必使他們全部刺死、都交付在以色列人面前；他們的馬你要砍斷蹄筋，他們的車輛你要放火去燒。』

那界線又從山頂延到尼弗多亞的水源，出到以弗崙山那些城；又折到巴拉、就是基列耶琳；

約書亞對他們說：『如果你們族民多，嫌以法蓮山地窄小，就可以上森林裏、在比利洗人利乏音人之地那裏自己砍樹木。』約瑟的子孫說：『那山地容不下我們，並且住山谷之地所有的迦南人、就是住伯善和屬伯善廂鎮的人、以及住耶斯列山谷的人、都有鐵車。』

山地所有的居民、從利巴嫩直到米斯利弗瑪音、所有的西頓人：是我必將他們從以色列人面前趕出的；你只管將這地拈鬮分給以色列人為產業、照我所吩咐你的。

『是我，我親自安慰你們的；你怎麼啦，你竟怕那會死的人，怕那生成如草的世人呀！你竟忘了那造了你、的永恆主，那展開諸天，奠定了大地的，而那窘迫人者準備要行毁滅時、你就終日懼怕他的烈怒呀！其實那窘迫人者的烈怒在哪裏呢？
