至巴蘭野之加低斯、見摩西亞倫、及以色列會眾、告以諸事、以厥土之菓示之、謂摩西曰、爾遣我所往之地、我已至焉、果流乳蜜、此其菓也、雖然、居民強悍、其邑廣大、俱有城垣、我見亞衲族於彼、亞瑪力族居南方、赫人、耶布斯人、亞摩利人居山地、迦南人瀕海與約但河居焉、迦勒於摩西前、慰安民曰、我儕能克其地、其往取之、偕行者曰、彼強於我、不可往攻、遂毀所窺之地、謂以色列族曰、我所窺之地、吞噬居民、我所見之人、軀幹修偉、在彼見偉人亞衲族、我自較之、形猶蟿蟲、彼之視我亦若是、

摩西所遣以窺地者、即斯人也、嫩之子何西阿、摩西易其名為約書亞、摩西遣十二人以窺迦南、曰、自其南境而往、入彼山地、察其土壤、觀其居民、強弱眾寡、其處之所、或美或惡、其居之邑、或類營壘、或類城垣、其土壤、或瘠或腴、有無林木、宜強乃志、彼地之菓、可攜而歸、其時乃葡萄初稔之際、
