Sihon king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon. He ruled from Aroer on the rim of the Arnon Gorge— from the middle of the gorge— to the Jabbok River, which is the border of the Ammonites. This included half of Gilead.

They took over the land of Sihon. He was the king of the Amorites. He ruled in Heshbon. The land he ruled over begins at Aroer. Aroer is on the rim of the Arnon River valley. Sihon ruled from the middle of the valley to the Jabbok River. The Jabbok is the border of Ammon. Sihon’s territory included half of Gilead.

现在你要起来，出发，过亚嫩谷；看哪，我已经把亚摩利人希实本王西宏和他的土地，交在你的手里了；你要开始占领那地作产业，与他争战。就在今天，我要使天下万民听见你的消息都惊慌惧怕，而且因你的缘故发抖疼痛。’“我从基底莫的旷野，派使者到希实本王西宏那里去，用和平的话说：‘求你让我从你的地经过；我只走大道，不偏左也不偏右。你可以按着价钱把食物卖给我吃，也可以按着价钱把水卖给我喝；只要让我步行过去就是了；好像住在西珥的以扫子孙，和住在亚珥的摩押人待我一样，等我过约旦河，进到耶和华我们的神赐给我们的地去。’但是希实本王西宏不肯让我们从他那里经过，因为耶和华我们的神使他的心意顽固，使他的心刚硬，为要把他交在你的手里，像今日一样。耶和华对我说：‘看哪，我已经把西宏和他的地交给你了，你可以占领他的地作产业。’“那时西宏和他所有的人民都出来，攻击我们，在雅杂与我们作战。耶和华我们的神把他交给了我们，我们就把他、他的儿子们和他所有的人民都击杀了。那时我们夺取了他所有的城邑，把每一座城，连男带女，以及小孩子都全部毁灭，没有留下一个存活的；只留下我们掠为己有的牲畜，和我们夺取城邑所得的战利品。从亚嫩谷旁边的亚罗珥和谷中的城，直到基列，没有一座城太高，是我们不能攻下的；耶和华我们的神把这一切都交给我们了。只有亚扪人的地，雅博河一带的地方，和山地的城市，以及耶和华我们的神吩咐我们不可去的地方，我们都没有走近。”

就是亚摩利王西宏、巴珊王噩，和迦南列国的王。

亚扪人的王对耶弗他的使者说：“因以色列人从埃及上来的时候，夺了我的土地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到约旦河；现在你要把它和和平平地交还。”

他杀了亚摩利王西宏，因为他的慈爱永远长存。他杀了巴珊王噩，因为他的慈爱永远长存。

占领了亚摩利人四周的境界，从亚嫩河到雅博河，从旷野直到约旦河。

你把列国和万民赐给他们，你把列国分给他们作疆界，他们就获得西宏之地，希实本王之地和巴珊王噩之地。

西宏不容以色列人从他的境界经过，反而聚集了自己的人民，出到旷野去攻击以色列人，西宏到了雅杂，与以色列人交战。以色列人用刀击杀了他，占领了他的地，从亚嫩河到雅博河，直到亚扪人那里，因为雅谢是亚扪人的边界（本句或译﹕“因为亚扪人有坚固的边防”）。以色列人夺取了这一切城，也住在亚摩利人的各城，就是希实本，与属于希实本的一切村庄。这希实本是亚摩利人的王西宏的京城；西宏曾经与摩押以前的王交战，从他手中夺去了所有的地，直到亚嫩河。因此诗人说：“你们来到希实本！愿西宏的城被重建，愿西宏的城坚立。因为有火从希实本发出，有火焰从西宏的城冒出，吞灭了摩押的亚珥，烧毁了亚嫩河的高冈（按照《马索拉文本》，“烧毁了亚嫩河的高冈”作“亚嫩河的高冈上的业主”﹔现参照《七十士译本》翻译）。摩押啊，你有祸了，基抹的民哪，你们灭亡了；基抹使自己的男子逃亡，使自己的女子被掳，交给了亚摩利人的王西宏。我们射击他们，希实本就毁灭，直到底本。我们使地荒凉，直到挪法，挪法直伸到米底巴。”

我们把这些都灭尽，像从前我们待希实本王西宏一样，把各城中的男女和小孩子都灭尽。只有城中所有的牲畜和夺得的财物，都掠为己有。那时，我们从约旦河东亚摩利人的两个王手里，把从亚嫩谷直到黑门山的地夺了过来，（西顿人称黑门山为西连，亚摩利人却称它为示尼珥。）就是夺了平原上所有的城市，基列全境和巴珊全境，直到撒迦和以得来，这都是巴珊王噩国内的城市。（利乏音人的余民中，只留下巴珊王噩一人；看哪，他的床是铁的，长四公尺，宽两公尺，这是按一般的尺寸量度，现在不是还在亚扪人的拉巴吗？）“那时，我们占领了那地，从亚嫩谷旁边的亚罗珥起，我把基列山地的一半和其中的城市，都给了流本人和迦得人。基列其余的地方和巴珊全境，就是噩王的国土，我都给了玛拿西半个支派。亚珥歌全境就是巴珊全境，这叫作利乏音人的地。玛拿西的儿子睚珥，占了亚珥歌全境，直到基述人和玛迦人的边界，就按着自己的名字称巴珊全境为哈倭特．睚珥，直到今日。我又把基列给了玛吉。从基列到亚嫩谷，以谷的中心为界，直到亚扪人边界的雅博河，我都给了流本人和迦得人；又把亚拉巴，和以约旦河为界，从基尼烈直到亚拉巴海，就是盐海，在毗斯迦山坡下东边的地方，都给了他们。
