對摩西說：『你把人民所有的首領拘拿、當着永恆主面前、就在日光之下正法示眾，讓永恆主的烈怒得以轉消、不向以色列人發作。』

現在你要將他的子孫七人交給我們，我們好在永恆主面前把他們正法示眾在基遍永恆主的山上。』王說：『我要交給你們。』

基督既為我們成了被咒詛的，就把我們買出來、使我們脫離了律法的咒詛；（因為經上記着說：『凡掛在木架上的都被咒詛』；

『人若犯罪、有該死的罪案，他被處死了，你將他掛在示眾木上；他的屍體你不可留在示眾木上過夜，總要在當天將他葬埋，因為被掛的人是上帝所咒詛的；這樣、你就不至於使永恆主你的上帝所賜給你以為業的土地蒙不潔。

在王面前的太監中有一個叫哈波拿的說：『啊，哈曼為那說忠義話來救王的末底改所立那五十肘高的示眾木架現在正立在哈曼家裏呢。』王說：『把哈曼掛在那上頭。』於是人將哈曼掛在他為末底改所豫備的示眾木架上；王的烈怒這才消熄。

交在基遍人手裏；基遍人就在永恆主面前把他們正法示眾在山上；這七人就一同倒斃了；他們被殺的時候、正是收割日的起頭，開始割大麥的時候。

眾民都回答說：『他的血歸到我們、和我們的子孫身上。』

這事一被追究，便查出是實；二人就被掛在示眾木上。這事就在王面前寫在《史記》上。
