爾眾勿緩、追襲爾敵、擊其後軍、勿容入邑、爾上帝耶和華付之於爾手矣、

我要追赶我的仇敌，并要追上他们；不将他们灭绝，我总不归回。我要打伤他们，使他们不能起来；他们必倒在我的脚下。因为你曾以力量束我的腰，使我能争战；你也使那起来攻击我的都服在我以下。你又使我的仇敌在我面前转背逃跑，叫我能以剪除那恨我的人。他们呼求，却无人拯救；就是呼求耶和华，他也不应允。

因此，耶和华一日之间必从以色列中剪除头与尾，棕枝与芦苇。长老和尊贵人就是头，以谎言教人的先知就是尾。

懒惰为耶和华行事的，必受咒诅；禁止刀剑不经血的，必受咒诅。”

他若进了哪一座城，以色列众人必带绳子去，将那城拉到河里，甚至连一块小石头都不剩下。”

约书亚和以色列人大大杀败他们，直到将他们灭尽；其中剩下的人都进了坚固的城。

我们为何静坐不动呢？我们当聚集，进入坚固城，在那里静默不言；因为耶和华我们的神使我们静默不言，又将苦胆水给我们喝，都因我们得罪了耶和华。

大卫对亚比筛说：“现在恐怕比基利的儿子示巴加害于我们比押沙龙更甚。你要带领你主的仆人追赶他，免得他得了坚固城，躲避我们。”
