Then the sailors said to each other,“ Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity.” They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.

Here is what the sailors said to one another.“ Someone is to blame for getting us into all this trouble. Come. Let’s cast lots to find out who it is.” So they did. And Jonah was picked.

And they said to one another,“ Come, let us cast lots, that we may know on whose account this evil has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

Then the crew cast lots to see which of them had offended the gods and caused the terrible storm. When they did this, the lots identified Jonah as the culprit.

“ Come on!” the sailors said to each other.“ Let’s cast lots. Then we’ll know who is to blame for this trouble we’re in.” So they cast lots, and the lot singled out Jonah.

And each man said to his mate,“ Come, let’s cast lots so that we may find out on whose account this catastrophe has struck us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

And they said to one another,“ Come, let us cast lots, that we may know for whose cause this trouble has come upon us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

盍起、成聖斯民、使潔己身、以待明晨、將我命傳眾曰、以色列族與、有獻我之物、藏於爾間、未出斯物、爾不能禦敵。詰朝、必使各支派至而掣籤、其中我取一支派、必使各族至、其中我取一族、必使各家至、其中我取一家、必使各人至、我取其人、既藏所獻之物、則必爇之、與凡所有、緣背我約、行不端於以色列族中。約書亞夙興、使以色列各支派至、製籤而取猶大、使猶大各族至、而取西喇、使西喇各家至、而取颯底、使其家各人至、而取猶大支派、西喇曾孫、颯底孫、迦米子亞干。

更相勸勉、造作偶像、曰、壯乃心、木工、金工、細工、粗工、無不相助為理、使金互相銜接、釘之以釘、不能搖撼。

耶和華諭約書亞曰、爾起、曷俯伏於此。

掃羅祈以色列族之上帝耶和華、曰、願指示其實。掣籤得掃羅及約拿單。民弗與焉。掃羅曰、於我父子之間、試再掣籤、乃得約拿單。

撒母耳使以色列支派各掣籤、而得便雅憫族。使便雅憫支派、循其世系各掣籤、而得馬特哩族、基士子掃羅。索之不獲。

掣籤在人、定事在耶和華。

不然、則干犯耶和華、罪必有歸、爾當知之。

釘十字架後、鬮分其衣、應先知言云、分我外服、鬮我裹衣、

時未至、勿擬議人、待主臨日、將照諸幽隱、發諸心謀、人人褒貶於上帝、

滅迦南地七種民、乃鬮分其地與之、

其田既至、有人以夢告同儔曰、我夢麰麥圓餅一、旋轉入米田營、至於一幕、傾而覆之。同儔曰、此無他、乃以色列人約押子其田之刃、蓋上帝以米田軍付於其手。

於是、舉二人、其一約瑟、名巴撒巴、又名猶士都、其二馬提亞、眾祈曰、主識眾心、請擇於斯二者、示孰為可、以任使徒職、蓋猶大離此職、往其所矣、於是鬮之、得馬提亞、遂與十一使徒同列云、

惟掣籤攻其庇亞。在以色列支派中、百取十、千取百、萬取千、使備餱糧、待我儕至便雅憫之其庇亞、彼於以色列族中所作之穢行、我特報施焉。

分我外服、鬮我裏衣兮、

掃羅曰、惟爾民長、咸必前來、欲知今日誰干罪戾、我指救以色列族之耶和華而誓、雖我子約拿單、亦必死亡。民中無有應之者。

我籲上帝曰、爾毋以我為惡、即加譴責、亦必示以何故。

十二年正月、即尼散月、哈曼問於卜筮、何月吉、占得十二月、即亞達月。

告之曰、耶和華會眾云、爾今日何干犯以色列族之上帝、不從耶和華更築壇、違耶和華命。昔在比耳、我儕犯罪、耶和華降災會眾、至今罪未盡赦、其事豈微細哉。今日爾曹不從耶和華、違逆其命、恐明日耶和華怒以色列會眾。如爾所得之地、以為不潔、則歸耶和華會幕所立之地、在我儕中得業亦可、但勿違耶和華及我、除我上帝耶和華壇外、勿更築壇。昔西喇孫亞干、豈非干犯所當獻之物、而降災於以色列會眾乎、其咎戾豈亞干獨亡乎。
