But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

But Jonah ran away from the Lord. He headed for Tarshish. So he went down to the port of Joppa. There he found a ship that was going to Tarshish. He paid the fare and went on board. Then he sailed for Tarshish. He was running away from the Lord.

But Jonah got up and went in the opposite direction to get away from the Lord. He went down to the port of Joppa, where he found a ship leaving for Tarshish. He bought a ticket and went on board, hoping to escape from the Lord by sailing to Tarshish.

他施啊，你要像尼罗河一样在你的地泛滥，不再有腰带的束缚了。

“因此，亚基帕王啊！我没有违背那从天上来的异象；

他就向耶和华祷告，说：“耶和华啊，这不就是我仍在本国的时候所说的吗？我知道你是有恩惠，有怜悯的神，不轻易发怒，有丰盛的慈爱，并且会改变心意，不降那灾难。我就是因为这样，才急速逃往他施去的呀！

我传福音原没有可夸耀的，因为我是不得已的，若不传福音，我就有祸了。

你们当渡到他施去，哀号吧，沿海的居民！

他在那里进了一个洞，在洞中过夜。看哪，耶和华的话临到他，说：“以利亚，你在这里做什么？”

耶和华啊，你欺哄了我，我也被你欺哄了。你比我强，并且得胜。我终日成为笑柄，人人都戏弄我。我每逢讲话的时候，就哀叹，我喊叫：“有暴力和毁灭！”因为耶和华的话终日成了我的凌辱和讥刺。我若说：“我不再提耶和华，也不再奉他的名讲论”，我心里便觉得似乎有烧着的火闷在我骨中，我忍受不住，不能自禁。

此后，彼得在约帕一个皮革匠西门的家里住了好些日子。

“他施因你多有财物，就作你的客商，他们带着银、铁、锡、铅前来换你的商品。

耶和华对撒但说：“看哪，凡他所有的都在你手中；只是不可伸手加害于他。”于是撒但从耶和华面前退出去。

摩西说：“主啊，求求你，你要藉着谁的手，就差派谁去吧！”耶和华的怒气向摩西发作，说：“你不是有一个哥哥利未人亚伦吗？我知道他是个能言善道的人。看哪，他正出来迎接你。他一见到你，心里就欢喜。

但保罗认为不宜带他去，因为马可从前在旁非利亚离开他们，不和他们一起工作。

于是灵将我举起，带着我走。我就去了，十分苦恼，我的灵火热；耶和华的手重重地按在我身上。

耶稣对他说：“手扶着犁向后看的人，不配进神的国。”

他们要受惩罚，永远沉沦，与主的面和他权能的荣光隔绝。

我往哪里去，躲避你的灵？我往哪里逃，躲避你的面？我若升到天上，你在那里；我若躺在阴间，你也在那里。我若展开清晨的翅膀，飞到海极居住，就是在那里，你的手必引导我，你的右手也必扶持我。我若说“黑暗必定压碎我，我周围的亮光必成为黑夜”，黑暗对你不再是黑暗，黑夜却如白昼发亮。黑暗和光明，在你看来都是一样。

于是撒但从耶和华面前退出去，击打约伯，使他从脚掌到头顶长毒疮。

临到他施一切的船只、一切华丽的船艇。

我们必照你所需用的，从黎巴嫩砍伐树木，扎成筏子，浮海运到约帕；你可以从那里运到耶路撒冷。”

天起了凉风，那人和他妻子听见耶和华神在园中来回行走的声音，就藏在园里的树木中，躲避耶和华神的面。

以利亚害怕，就起来逃命，到了犹大的别是巴，把仆人留在那里。

众海岛必等候我，他施的船只领先，将你的儿女，连同他们的金银从远方带来，这都因以色列的圣者、耶和华—你神的名，因为他已经荣耀了你。
