因为海浪越来越汹涌，他们又对他说：“我们该怎样处置你，才能叫海浪平静呢？”

他们又对他说：“我们该对你怎么做，才能使海为我们平静下来呢？”因为海浪越来越汹涌了。

他們問他說：「我們當向你怎樣行，使海浪平靜呢？」這話是因海浪越發翻騰。

他們又問他：「我們該對你怎麼做，才能使海為我們平靜下來呢？」因為海浪越來越洶湧了。

又謂之曰、我當何以待爾、使海為我而恬靜乎、因海久而愈盪、

又曰、今海震盪愈甚、當若何待爾、則風浪可息。

又曰、今海之波濤洶湧已甚、當若何待爾、使海恬靜乎、

The sea was getting rougher and rougher. So they asked him,“ What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?”

Then they said to him,“ What shall we do to you, that the sea may quiet down for us?” For the sea grew more and more tempestuous.

And since the storm was getting worse all the time, they asked him,“ What should we do to you to stop this storm?”

So they said to him,“ What should we do to you so that the sea will calm down for us?” For the sea was getting worse and worse.

So they said to him,“ What should we do to you so that the sea will become calm for us?”— for the sea was becoming increasingly stormy.

Then they said to him,“ What shall we do to you that the sea may be calm for us?”— for the sea was growing more tempestuous.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea grew more and more tempestuous.

So they said to him,“ What should we do to you to calm this sea that’s against us?” For the sea was getting worse and worse.

Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous.

Because the storm was growing worse and worse, they said to him,“ What should we do to you to make the sea calm down for us?”

Then they said to him,“ What shall we do to you, that the sea may be calm to us?” For the sea grew more and more stormy.

大卫在位年间有饥荒，一连三年，大卫求问耶和华，耶和华说：“扫罗和他家犯了流人血之罪，因为他杀死了基遍人。”大卫王召了基遍人来，跟他们说话。基遍人不是以色列人，而是亚摩利人中所剩下的人。以色列人曾向他们起誓，扫罗却为以色列人和犹大人大发热心，追杀他们，为了要消灭他们。大卫对基遍人说：“我当为你们做什么呢？要用什么赎这罪，使你们为耶和华的产业祝福呢？”基遍人对他说：“我们和扫罗以及他家的事与金银无关，也不要因我们的缘故杀任何以色列人。”大卫说：“你们怎样说，我就为你们怎样做。”他们对王说：“那谋害我们、要消灭我们、使我们不得住以色列境内的人，请把他的子孙七人交给我们，我们好在耶和华面前，把他们悬挂在基比亚，就是耶和华拣选扫罗的地方。”王说：“我必交给你们。”

大卫早晨起来，耶和华的话临到迦得先知，就是大卫的先见，说：“你去告诉大卫：‘耶和华如此说：我向你提出三样，随你选择一样，我好降给你。’”于是迦得来到大卫那里告诉他，问他：“你要国中有七年的饥荒呢？或是你在敌人面前逃跑，被追赶三个月呢？或是在你国中有三日的瘟疫呢？现在你要考虑思量，我怎样去回覆那差我来的。”

“我朝见耶和华，在至高神面前跪拜，当献上什么呢？难道献一岁的牛犊为燔祭来朝见他吗？耶和华岂喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？我岂可为自己的过犯献我的长子，为自己的罪恶献我所亲生的吗？”

非利士人召了祭司和占卜的来，说：“我们向耶和华的约柜应当怎样做呢？请指示我们要用什么方法把约柜送回原处。”他们说：“若要将以色列神的约柜送回去，不可空手送回，一定要给他献赔罪的礼物，然后你们才可以得痊愈，并且知道他的手为何不离开你们。”
