The Lord will roar from Zion and thunder from Jerusalem; the earth and the heavens will tremble. But the Lord will be a refuge for his people, a stronghold for the people of Israel.

For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land.

O Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in the day of trouble, to you shall the nations come from the ends of the earth and say:“ Our fathers have inherited nothing but lies, worthless things in which there is no profit.

“ You, therefore, shall prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:“‘ The Lord will roar from on high, and from his holy habitation utter his voice; he will roar mightily against his fold, and shout, like those who tread grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.The clamor will resound to the ends of the earth, for the Lord has an indictment against the nations; he is entering into judgment with all flesh, and the wicked he will put to the sword, declares the Lord.’

for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy.

The Lord goes out like a mighty man, like a man of war he stirs up his zeal; he cries out, he shouts aloud, he shows himself mighty against his foes.

And I have put my words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of my hand, establishing the heavens and laying the foundations of the earth, and saying to Zion,‘ You are my people.’”

For in my jealousy and in my blazing wrath I declare, On that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.

he will dwell on the heights; his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks; his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.

But there the Lord in majesty will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, where no galley with oars can go, nor majestic ship can pass.

They shall go after the Lord; he will roar like a lion; when he roars, his children shall come trembling from the west;

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea,though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. And also the Glory of Israel will not lie or have regret, for he is not a man, that he should have regret.”

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say to the Lord,“ My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!

The lion has roared; who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken; who can but prophesy?”

And at that hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified and gave glory to the God of heaven.

And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.

At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised,“ Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”

Then the clans of Judah shall say to themselves,‘ The inhabitants of Jerusalem have strength through the Lord of hosts, their God.’“ On that day I will make the clans of Judah like a blazing pot in the midst of wood, like a flaming torch among sheaves. And they shall devour to the right and to the left all the surrounding peoples, while Jerusalem shall again be inhabited in its place, in Jerusalem.“ And the Lord will give salvation to the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem may not surpass that of Judah.On that day the Lord will protect the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that the feeblest among them on that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the angel of the Lord, going before them.

“ I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph. I will bring them back because I have compassion on them, and they shall be as though I had not rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and I will answer them.

I will make them strong in the Lord, and they shall walk in his name,” declares the Lord.

My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm they wait.Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and they who dwell in it will die in like manner; but my salvation will be forever, and my righteousness will never be dismayed.

Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.
