葡萄之樹、枝葉全枯、新釀之酒、臭味俱變、昔之懽愉者、今則慨嘆、播鼗鼓琴者無人欣喜、歡忭已止、飲酒之時、不再謳歌、以醇醪為甚苦、毀其城垣、鍵其宅第、無人得入、歡樂變為憂戚、通衢之民號呼、欲飲酒以消愁、

歲序既周、葡萄不實、五穀不登、安居之女、因以殷憂、爾曹逸樂安居、必戰栗憂愁、解其衣裳、束麻於腰、見良田佳囿、盡屬荒蕪、不免椎心而太息、

自當謹慎、勿以饜飫沉湎、世之憧擾累心、恐其日突然臨爾、如機檻臨宅土之人、故宜儆醒常祈、得避將來之事、立人子前矣、○

富者當思將來之苦而號泣、

人子、當言未來事曰、主耶和華云、禍日將屆、爾當號泣不已、

居位之人、所行暴虐、以為報應之理、甚屬茫昧、寢於象牙之榻、卧於棲息之床、羔則取之於群、犢則執之於牢、供其饜飫、彈琴作歌、製樂器、一如大闢、以最巨之盂、盛酒醴、以至貴之油、膏肌膚、於約瑟之難、毫不矜憫、其禍必不遠矣。寢於床第者、不聞懽呼之聲、必先他人、徙於遠方。

有富人衣紫袍細布、日事華靡宴樂、

凡此皆所當行、因知屆期、今宜寤矣、較我初信之時、福更近之、夜既央、晝伊邇、當解行暗之衣、服光明之甲、行所當行、有如晝日、勿沉湎而蕩檢、勿冒色而邪侈、勿鬥忿而媢嫉、勿圖情欲、以任所嗜、惟主耶穌基督是佩是服、

爾當衣麻哀哭、蓋我怒正盛、莫能遏止。

彼掣籤得我之民、以童易妓、以女易酒、
