Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God.

Priests, put on the clothing of sadness and mourn. Cry, you who serve at the altar. Come, you who serve my God in the temple. Spend the night dressed in the clothes of sadness. Weep because no one brings grain offerings and drink offerings to the house of your God anymore.

Put on sackcloth and lament, O priests; wail, O ministers of the altar. Go in, pass the night in sackcloth, O ministers of my God! Because grain offering and drink offering are withheld from the house of your God.

你們要哀號，像少女腰束麻布，為她幼年時許配的丈夫哀號一樣。素祭和奠祭都從耶和華的殿裡斷絕了，事奉耶和華的祭司也都悲哀。

因此，你們應當披上麻布，痛哭哀號，因為耶和華的烈怒，還沒有離開我們。

尼尼微人信了（“信了”或譯：“信服”）神，就宣告禁食，從大到小，都穿上麻衣。這事傳到尼尼微王那裡，他就起來，離開寶座，脫去王袍，披上麻衣，坐在爐灰中。他又傳諭全尼尼微，說：“王和大臣有令：‘人、畜、牛、羊，都不准嘗甚麼，不准吃，也不准喝。不論人畜，都要披上麻衣；各人要懇切呼求神，悔改，離開惡行，摒棄手中的強暴。

亞哈聽見這些話，就撕裂自己的衣服，披上麻布，禁食，睡在麻布上，並且神色頹喪地行走。

讓事奉耶和華的祭司在聖殿的廊子和祭壇之間哭泣，讓他們說：“耶和華啊！求你憐恤你的子民。不要使你的產業受羞辱，使他們在列國中成為笑談。為甚麼容人在萬民中譏笑說：‘他們的神在哪裡呢？’”

我要為眾山哭泣哀號，為曠野的草場唱哀歌；因為都已成為荒涼，無人經過，也聽不到牲畜的叫聲；無論空中的飛鳥，地上的走獸，都逃走跑掉了。

他們必用麻布束腰，戰兢把他們遮蓋，各人的臉上滿是羞愧，各人的頭上都光禿。

因為這些話所指的那位，原是屬於另外一個支派的，這支派向來沒有人在祭壇前供職。我們的主明明是從猶大支派出來的，關於這個支派，摩西並沒有提及祭司的事。

他使我們有資格作新約的僕役，這新約不是從儀文來的，而是從聖靈來的；因為儀文會使人死，而聖靈卻使人活。

大衛為那孩子懇求神，並且禁食。他進房裡去，終夜躺在地上。

這樣，人應該把我們看作基督的僕人，神奧祕的事的管家。

難道你們不知道，在聖殿供職的，就吃殿中的供物；侍候祭壇的，就分領壇上的祭物嗎？

反而在各樣的事上，表明自己是神的僕人，就如持久的忍耐、患難、貧乏、困苦、

你要把這些東西做好，作獻給耶和華的素祭，奉給祭司，讓他帶到祭壇。祭司要從素祭中舉起象徵的部分，焚燒在祭壇上，作獻給耶和華馨香的火祭。素祭餘剩的，要歸給亞倫和他的子孫；這是獻給耶和華的火祭中至聖之物。

在月初的燔祭和同獻的素祭、常獻的燔祭和同獻的素祭，以及照例同獻的奠祭以外，還要獻上這些給耶和華作馨香的火祭。

他們是基督的僕人嗎？說句狂話，我更是。我受更多的勞苦，更多的坐監，受了過量的鞭打，常常有生命的危險。

至於你們，卻要稱為耶和華的祭司，人必稱你們為我們神的僕人；你們要享用列國的財富，因得著他們的榮耀而誇耀。
