其怒未息、強者慴之。

天主若不息怒、助拉哈伯者助拉哈伯者或作逞驕傲者必屈服其下、

God does not restrain his anger; even the cohorts of Rahab cowered at his feet.

God doesn’t hold back his anger. Even the helpers of the sea monster Rahab bowed in fear at his feet.

For the Egyptians shall help in vain and to no purpose. Therefore I have called her Rahab-Hem-Shebeth.

He stirs up the sea with His power, And by His understanding He breaks up the storm.

You have broken Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.

Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the Lord! Awake as in the ancient days, In the generations of old. Are You not the arm that cut Rahab apart, And wounded the serpent?

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:“ God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Yet He also is wise and will bring disaster, And will not call back His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers, And against the help of those who work iniquity.Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; And their horses are flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out His hand, Both he who helps will fall, And he who is helped will fall down; They all will perish together.

Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?Then adorn yourself with majesty and splendor, And array yourself with glory and beauty.Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him.
