其怒未息、強者慴之。

天主若不息怒、助拉哈伯者助拉哈伯者或作逞驕傲者必屈服其下、

God doesn’t hold back his anger. Even the helpers of the sea monster Rahab bowed in fear at his feet.

God will not withdraw His anger, The allies of the proud lie prostrate beneath Him.

God does not hold back His anger; Rahab’s assistants cringe in fear beneath Him!

to Egypt, whose help is utterly useless. Therefore I call her Rahab the Do-Nothing.

By his power he churned up the sea; by his wisdom he cut Rahab to pieces.

You crushed Rahab like one of the slain; with your strong arm you scattered your enemies.

Awake, awake, arm of the Lord, clothe yourself with strength! Awake, as in days gone by, as in generations of old. Was it not you who cut Rahab to pieces, who pierced that monster through?

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says:“ God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Yet he too is wise and can bring disaster; he does not take back his words. He will rise up against that wicked nation, against those who help evildoers.But the Egyptians are mere mortals and not God; their horses are flesh and not spirit. When the Lord stretches out his hand, those who help will stumble, those who are helped will fall; all will perish together.

Do you have an arm like God’s, and can your voice thunder like his?Then adorn yourself with glory and splendor, and clothe yourself in honor and majesty.Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low,
