世人維何、致爾大之、而注意焉、

且人在世、亦甚渺耳、何為加意眷顧之、

世人何足算、主竟視為大、置之於意中、

“ What is mankind that you make so much of them, that you give them so much attention,

“ What are human beings that you think so much of them? What are they that you pay so much attention to them?

What is man, that you make so much of him, and that you set your heart on him,

“ What are people, that you should make so much of us, that you should think of us so often?

What is a mere human, that you think so highly of him and pay so much attention to him?

What is man that You exalt him, And that You are concerned about him,

“ What is man, that You should exalt him, That You should set Your heart on him,

What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him, And that thou shouldest set thy mind upon him,

What is man, that You think so highly of him and pay so much attention to him?

What[ is] man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him?

What is man, that you should magnify him, that you should set your mind on him,

O LORD, of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should be concerned about them?

Instead someone testified somewhere:“ What is man that you think of him or the son of man that you care for him?

Of what importance is the human race, that you should notice them? Of what importance is mankind, that you should pay attention to them,

If God were to set his heart on it, and gather in his spirit and his breath,all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.

Am I the sea, or the creature of the deep, that you must put me under guard?

Who has the king of Israel come out after? Who is it that you are pursuing? A dead dog? A single flea?
