你們想要「駁正」人的言論麼？但絕望人說的話正是給風吹的呢。

爾欲譴言詞乎、不知絕望之人、其論如風、

爾意欲即我所言、以相詰責、不知絕望之人、言等飄風。

爾欲駁詰我言乎、或作爾但欲辯駁言語乎不知絕望之人、其言等乎飄風、

Do you mean to correct what I say, and treat my desperate words as wind?

Are you trying to correct what I’m saying? Are you treating my hopeless words like nothing but wind?

Do you think that you can reprove words, when the speech of a despairing man is wind?

Do you think that you can disprove my words or that a despairing man’s words are mere wind?

Do you intend to rebuke my words, When the words of one in despair belong to the wind?

Do you intend to rebuke my words, And the speeches of a desperate one, which are as wind?

Do ye think to reprove words, Seeing that the speeches of one that is desperate are as wind?

Do you think that you can disprove my words or that a despairing man’s words are mere wind?

Do ye imagine to reprove words, and the speeches of one that is desperate,[ which are] as wind?

Do you intend to criticize mere words, and treat the words of a despairing man as wind?

Do you intend to reprove words, since the speeches of one who is desperate are as wind?

“ How long will you go on like this? You sound like a blustering wind.

Then we will no longer be immature like children. We won’t be tossed and blown about by every wind of new teaching. We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.

For the Almighty has struck me down with his arrows. Their poison infects my spirit. God’s terrors are lined up against me.

“ Will you discredit my justice and condemn me just to prove you are right?

“ Let the day of my birth be erased, and the night I was conceived.Let that day be turned to darkness. Let it be lost even to God on high, and let no light shine on it.Let the darkness and utter gloom claim that day for its own. Let a black cloud overshadow it, and let the darkness terrify it.Let that night be blotted off the calendar, never again to be counted among the days of the year, never again to appear among the months.Let that night be childless. Let it have no joy.Let those who are experts at cursing— whose cursing could rouse Leviathan— curse that day.Let its morning stars remain dark. Let it hope for light, but in vain; may it never see the morning light.Curse that day for failing to shut my mother’s womb, for letting me be born to see all this trouble.“ Why wasn’t I born dead? Why didn’t I die as I came from the womb?Why was I laid on my mother’s lap? Why did she nurse me at her breasts?Had I died at birth, I would now be at peace. I would be asleep and at rest.I would rest with the world’s kings and prime ministers, whose great buildings now lie in ruins.I would rest with princes, rich in gold, whose palaces were filled with silver.Why wasn’t I buried like a stillborn child, like a baby who never lives to see the light?For in death the wicked cause no trouble, and the weary are at rest.Even captives are at ease in death, with no guards to curse them.Rich and poor are both there, and the slave is free from his master.“ Oh, why give light to those in misery, and life to those who are bitter?They long for death, and it won’t come. They search for death more eagerly than for hidden treasure.They’re filled with joy when they finally die, and rejoice when they find the grave.Why is life given to those with no future, those God has surrounded with difficulties?I cannot eat for sighing; my groans pour out like water.What I always feared has happened to me. What I dreaded has come true.I have no peace, no quietness. I have no rest; only trouble comes.”

You asked,‘ Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorance?’ It is I— and I was talking about things I knew nothing about, things far too wonderful for me.

But Job replied,“ You talk like a foolish woman. Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never anything bad?” So in all this, Job said nothing wrong.

I wish he would crush me. I wish he would reach out his hand and kill me.

The people of Israel feed on the wind; they chase after the east wind all day long. They pile up lies and violence; they are making an alliance with Assyria while sending olive oil to buy support from Egypt.

After the Lord had finished speaking to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite:“ I am angry with you and your two friends, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.

The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

“ In the past you have encouraged many people; you have strengthened those who were weak.Your words have supported those who were falling; you encouraged those with shaky knees.

“ Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?

I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say.”

Job said,‘ The ear tests the words it hears just as the mouth distinguishes between foods.’So let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.For Job also said,‘ I am innocent, but God has taken away my rights.I am innocent, but they call me a liar. My suffering is incurable, though I have not sinned.’“ Tell me, has there ever been a man like Job, with his thirst for irreverent talk?He chooses evil people as companions. He spends his time with wicked men.He has even said,‘ Why waste time trying to please God?’

“ I am disgusted with my life. Let me complain freely. My bitter soul must complain.
