Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm:

Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said:

Our God comes and will not be silent; a fire devours before him, and around him a tempest rages.He summons the heavens above, and the earth, that he may judge his people:

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly livesas you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat.

You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm;to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word be spoken to them,because they could not bear what was commanded:“ If even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned to death.”
