Give vent to your anger. Let it overflow against the proud.

要发出你满溢的怒气，见一切骄傲的人，使他降卑；

Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low,

Let loose your great anger. Look at those who are proud and bring them low.

Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.

Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.

Let out your outbursts of anger, And look at everyone who is arrogant, and humble him.

Disperse the rage of your wrath; Look on everyone who is proud, and humble him.

“ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and glorify and honor the King of heaven. All his acts are just and true, and he is able to humble the proud.”

Human pride will be brought down, and human arrogance will be humbled. Only the Lord will be exalted on that day of judgment.For the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has a day of reckoning. He will punish the proud and mighty and bring down everything that is exalted.

Who can stand before his fierce anger? Who can survive his burning fury? His rage blazes forth like fire, and the mountains crumble to dust in his presence.

But when his heart and mind were puffed up with arrogance, he was brought down from his royal throne and stripped of his glory.He was driven from human society. He was given the mind of a wild animal, and he lived among the wild donkeys. He ate grass like a cow, and he was drenched with the dew of heaven, until he learned that the Most High God rules over the kingdoms of the world and appoints anyone he desires to rule over them.“ You are his successor, O Belshazzar, and you knew all this, yet you have not humbled yourself.For you have proudly defied the Lord of heaven and have had these cups from his Temple brought before you. You and your nobles and your wives and concubines have been drinking wine from them while praising gods of silver, gold, bronze, iron, wood, and stone— gods that neither see nor hear nor know anything at all. But you have not honored the God who gives you the breath of life and controls your destiny!

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies says,“ The day of judgment is coming, burning like a furnace. On that day the arrogant and the wicked will be burned up like straw. They will be consumed— roots, branches, and all.

You have been deceived by your own pride because you live in a rock fortress and make your home high in the mountains.‘ Who can ever reach us way up here?’ you ask boastfully.But even if you soar as high as eagles and build your nest among the stars, I will bring you crashing down,” says the Lord.

Hurl your lightning bolts and scatter your enemies! Shoot your arrows and confuse them!

And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say,“ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

He loosed on them his fierce anger— all his fury, rage, and hostility. He dispatched against them a band of destroying angels.He turned his anger against them; he did not spare the Egyptians’ lives but ravaged them with the plague.

The people gave him a great ovation, shouting,“ It’s the voice of a god, not of a man!”Instantly, an angel of the Lord struck Herod with a sickness, because he accepted the people’s worship instead of giving the glory to God. So he was consumed with worms and died.

But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil— for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.

I tell you, this sinner, not the Pharisee, returned home justified before God. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

In the same way, you who are younger must accept the authority of the elders. And all of you, dress yourselves in humility as you relate to one another, for“ God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor.

It whirls down on them without mercy. They struggle to flee from its power.

I know now that the Lord is greater than all other gods, because he rescued his people from the oppression of the proud Egyptians.”

For my anger blazes forth like fire and burns to the depths of the grave. It devours the earth and all its crops and ignites the foundations of the mountains.

“ Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy.

May God give them a bellyful of trouble. May God rain down his anger upon them.

After the Lord has used the king of Assyria to accomplish his purposes on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, he will turn against the king of Assyria and punish him— for he is proud and arrogant.He boasts,“ By my own powerful arm I have done this. With my own shrewd wisdom I planned it. I have broken down the defenses of nations and carried off their treasures. I have knocked down their kings like a bull.I have robbed their nests of riches and gathered up kingdoms as a farmer gathers eggs. No one can even flap a wing against me or utter a peep of protest.”But can the ax boast greater power than the person who uses it? Is the saw greater than the person who saws? Can a rod strike unless a hand moves it? Can a wooden cane walk by itself?Therefore, the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, will send a plague among Assyria’s proud troops, and a flaming fire will consume its glory.The Lord, the Light of Israel, will be a fire; the Holy One will be a flame. He will devour the thorns and briers with fire, burning up the enemy in a single night.The Lord will consume Assyria’s glory like a fire consumes a forest in a fruitful land; it will waste away like sick people in a plague.Of all that glorious forest, only a few trees will survive— so few that a child could count them!

Therefore, he poured out his fury on them and destroyed them in battle. They were enveloped in flames, but they still refused to understand. They were consumed by fire, but they did not learn their lesson.

“ Son of man, give the prince of Tyre this message from the Sovereign Lord:“ In your great pride you claim,‘ I am a god! I sit on a divine throne in the heart of the sea.’ But you are only a man and not a god, though you boast that you are a god.

But I have spared you for a purpose— to show you my power and to spread my fame throughout the earth.But you still lord it over my people and refuse to let them go.
