“ Do you think this to be just: when you say,‘ My right before God.’

『你以為這樣說有理，你才說：「我的正義勝於上帝」；

爾以為有理、自謂我之義、愈於上帝之義乎、

爾於上帝前、自稱為義、爾又言、雖不犯罪、亦無所裨、斯言也、豈合乎理。

爾於天主前、自稱為義、或作爾言我義於天主又言我不犯罪亦何所裨、較犯罪有何所益、爾以為此言合乎理乎、

“ Do you think this is just? You say,‘ I am in the right, not God.’

“ Job, do you think it’s fair for you to say,‘ I am the one who is right, not God’?

“ Do you think this to be just? Do you say,‘ It is my right before God,’

“ Do you think it is right for you to claim,‘ I am righteous before God’?

Do you think it is just when you say,“ I am righteous before God”?

“ Do you think this is in accordance with justice? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

“ Do you think this is right? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

Thinkest thou this to be thy right, Or sayest thou, My righteousness is more than God’s,

Do you think it is just when you say,“ I am righteous before God”?

Thinkest thou this to be right,[ that] thou saidst, My righteousness[ is] more than God’s?

“ Do you think this to be your right, or do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s,’

I tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.”

he who crushes me with a tempest, and multiplies my wounds for no reason.

know then that God has wronged me and encircled me with his net.“ If I cry out,‘ Violence!’ I receive no answer; I cry for help, but there is no justice.

Would you indeed annul my justice? Would you declare me guilty so that you might be right?

although there is no violence in my hands and my prayer is pure.

The king said to him,‘ I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! So you knew, did you, that I was a severe man, withdrawing what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow?

although you know that I am not guilty, and that there is no one who can deliver out of your hand?

“ As surely as God lives, who has denied me justice, the Almighty, who has made my life bitter–for while my spirit is still in me, and the breath from God is in my nostrils,my lips will not speak wickedness, and my tongue will whisper no deceit.I will never declare that you three are in the right; until I die, I will not set aside my integrity!I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go; my conscience will not reproach me for as long as I live.

For Job says,‘ I am innocent, but God turns away my right.
