主援我、免於死亡、復睹光明。

天主救贖我生、生或作靈免入塚墓、救贖我命、俾睹光明、

God has delivered me from going down to the pit, and I shall live to enjoy the light of life.’

God has set me free. He has kept me from going down into the darkness of the grave. So I’ll live to enjoy the light of life.’

He has redeemed my soul from going down into the pit, and my life shall look upon the light.’

God rescued me from the grave, and now my life is filled with light.’

And he is gracious to him, and says,‘ Free him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom’;

Or like a miscarriage which is hidden, I would not exist, As infants that never saw light.

May the stars of its twilight be darkened; May it wait for light but have none, And may it not see the breaking dawn;

Then his soul comes near to the pit, And his life to those who bring death.

But You, God, will bring them down to the pit of destruction; Men of bloodshed and deceit will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.

The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.

Jesus replied,“ Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks during the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world.

May the flood of water not overflow me Nor the deep swallow me up, Nor the pit close its mouth on me.

He will go to the generation of his fathers; They will never see the light.

So that his life loathes bread, And his soul, food that he should crave.

You will also decide something, and it will be established for you; And light will shine on your ways.

“ Why is light given to one burdened with grief, And life to the bitter of soul,

Behold, for my own welfare I had great bitterness; But You have kept my soul from the pit of nothingness, For You have hurled all my sins behind Your back.For Sheol cannot thank You, Death cannot praise You; Those who go down to the pit cannot hope for Your faithfulness.

He keeps his soul back from the pit, And his life from perishing by the spear.

Will it go down with me to Sheol? Shall we together go down into the dust?”

Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand.And he took hold of the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years;and he threw him into the abyss and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he would not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were completed; after these things he must be released for a short time.
