“ Look, in this you are not righteous. I will answer you, For God is greater than man.

「看哪，你這話無理，我要回答你，因上帝比世人更大。

「看哪，你這話無理，我要回答你，因神比世人更大。

「我來答覆你，你的話沒有道理，因為上帝比世人大。

我要告訴你，你這話錯了，因為神比世人大。

『啊，你這話不對，我要回答你：上帝比世人大。

我則應之曰、爾言此、不義矣、蓋上帝卓越於人、

爾言實悖乎理、我不能不辨、夫上帝卓越於人、

我駁爾言謬、蓋天主超超或作大乎世人、

“ But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than any mortal.

“ But I’m telling you that you aren’t right when you talk like that. After all, God is greater than any human being.

“ Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

“ But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Behold, let me respond to you, you are not right in this, For God is greater than mankind.

Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Behold,[ in] this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

Now in this, you are not right– I answer you, for God is greater than a human being.

“ Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.

God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against Him and prospered?

“ Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.For He repays man according to his work, And makes man to find a reward according to his way.Surely God will never do wickedly, Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.

“ Shall the one who contends with the Almighty correct Him? He who rebukes God, let him answer it.”

“ Do you think this is right? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

“ O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter?” says the Lord.“ Look, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel!

“ Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.

You will say to me then,“ Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?”But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it,“ Why have you made me like this?”Does not the potter have power over the clay, from the same lump to make one vessel for honor and another for dishonor?

Indeed these are the mere edges of His ways, And how small a whisper we hear of Him! But the thunder of His power who can understand?”

“ Would you indeed annul My judgment? Would you condemn Me that you may be justified?Have you an arm like God? Or can you thunder with a voice like His?

“ I will answer you, And your companions with you.

In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.

“ Behold, God is exalted by His power; Who teaches like Him?Who has assigned Him His way, Or who has said,‘ You have done wrong’?

I also will answer my part, I too will declare my opinion.

For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.

Should one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn Him who is most just?Is it fitting to say to a king,‘ You are worthless,’ And to nobles,‘ You are wicked’?Yet He is not partial to princes, Nor does He regard the rich more than the poor; For they are all the work of His hands.

For He need not further consider a man, That he should go before God in judgment.

“ Yet you say,‘ The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair?
