Haven’t the members of my household said,“ Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

若我帐棚的人未尝说，谁不以主人的食物吃饱呢？

若我帐棚中的人未曾说：‘谁不以他的肉食吃饱呢？’

若我帐棚中的人未曾说：‘谁不以他的肉食吃饱呢？’

住在我帐篷中的人，谁没饱餐我的肉食呢？

我家里的人若没有说：‘谁能找出哪一个没有饱吃他的肉食的呢？’

若我帳棚的人未嘗說，誰不以主人的食物吃飽呢？（

若我帳棚中的人未曾說：『誰不以他的肉食吃飽呢？』

若我帳棚中的人未曾說：『誰不以他的肉食吃飽呢？』

住在我帳篷中的人，誰沒飽餐我的肉食呢？

我家裡的人若沒有說：‘誰能找出哪一個沒有飽吃他的肉食的呢？’

若我帳棚的家人未嘗說：「誰不以我主人的肉食而飽足呢？」（

若我幕中人未嘗雲、孰見有人不得其食而飽、

家之人未嘗曰、食無肉、枵腹堪嗟。

我家家原文作幕之人、何曾不指我云、孰不因其施食而得飽、

if those of my household have never said,‘ Who has not been filled with Job’s meat?’—

The workers in my house always said,‘ Job always gives plenty of food to everyone.’

if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who is there that has not been filled with his meat?’

“ My servants have never said,‘ He let others go hungry.’

Have the people of my tent not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been satisfied with his meat’?

If the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who is there that has not been satisfied with his meat?’

If the men of my tent have not said, Who can find one that hath not been filled with his meat?

Haven’t the members of my household said,“ Who is there who has not had enough to eat at Job’s table?”

If the men of my tabernacle said not, Oh that we had of his flesh! we cannot be satisfied.

if the members of my household have never said,‘ If only there were someone who has not been satisfied from Job’s meat!’–

if the men of my tent have not said,‘ Who can find one who has not been filled with his meat?’

Then Abishai said to David,“ Today God has delivered your enemy to you. Let me thrust the spear through him into the ground just once. I won’t have to strike him twice!”

You gave no water to the thirsty and withheld food from the famished,

When evildoers came against me to devour my flesh, my foes and my enemies stumbled and fell.

so they said to him,“ Look, this is the day the LORD told you about:‘ I will hand your enemy over to you so you can do to him whatever you desire.’” Then David got up and secretly cut off the corner of Saul’s robe.

You can see with your own eyes that the LORD handed you over to me today in the cave. Someone advised me to kill you, but I took pity on you and said: I won’t lift my hand against my lord, since he is the LORD’s anointed.

Why do you persecute me as God does? Will you never get enough of my flesh?

Then Johanan son of Kareah suggested to Gedaliah in private at Mizpah,“ Let me go kill Ishmael son of Nethaniah. No one will know it. Why should he kill you and allow all of Judah that has gathered around you to scatter and the remnant of Judah to perish?”But Gedaliah son of Ahikam responded to Johanan son of Kareah,“ Don’t do that! What you’re saying about Ishmael is a lie.”

Abishai son of Zeruiah asked,“ Shouldn’t Shimei be put to death for this, because he cursed the LORD’s anointed?”David answered,“ Sons of Zeruiah, do we agree on anything? Have you become my adversary today? Should any man be killed in Israel today? Am I not aware that today I’m king over Israel?”

Then one of them struck the high priest’s servant and cut off his right ear.But Jesus responded,“ No more of this!” And touching his ear, he healed him.

When the disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume them?”But he turned and rebuked them,

Then Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king,“ Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and remove his head!”The king replied,“ Sons of Zeruiah, do we agree on anything? He curses me this way because the LORD told him,‘ Curse David!’ Therefore, who can say,‘ Why did you do that?’”

If they say—“ Come with us! Let’s set an ambush and kill someone. Let’s attack some innocent person just for fun!Let’s swallow them alive, like Sheol, whole, like those who go down to the Pit.

but they set an ambush to kill themselves; they attack their own lives.

Do not let them say in their hearts,“ Aha! Just what we wanted.” Do not let them say,“ We have swallowed him up!”

You hate good and love evil. You tear off people’s skin and strip their flesh from their bones.You eat the flesh of my people after you strip their skin from them and break their bones. You chop them up like flesh for the cooking pot, like meat in a cauldron.”
