In the grave, sinful people don’t cause trouble anymore. And there tired people find rest.

There the wicked cease from troubling, and there the weary are at rest.

For in death the wicked cause no trouble, and the weary are at rest.

There the wicked cease to make trouble, and there the weary find rest.

There the wicked cease from raging, And there the weary are at rest.

There the wicked cease from troubling, And there the weary are at rest.

Then I heard a voice from heaven say,“ Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”“ Yes,” says the Spirit,“ they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”

Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.

There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

“ If only you would hide me in the grave and conceal me till your anger has passed! If only you would set me a time and then remember me!

Will it go down to the gates of death? Will we descend together into the dust?”

The righteous perish, and no one takes it to heart; the devout are taken away, and no one understands that the righteous are taken away to be spared from evil.Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death.

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble youand give relief to you who are troubled, and to us as well. This will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with his powerful angels.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

( for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard)—

“ I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more.

Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.I said,“ Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.I would flee far away and stay in the desert;I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm.”
