若非如此、則久已偃臥安逸、長眠寧靜、

If all of that hadn’t happened, I would be lying down in peace. I’d be asleep and at rest in the grave.

One person dies in excellent health, completely secure and at ease.

A man may father a hundred children and live many years. No matter how long he lives, if he is not satisfied by good things and does not even have a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.For he comes in futility and he goes in darkness, and his name is shrouded in darkness.Though a stillborn child does not see the sun and is not conscious, it has more rest than he.

The eye of anyone who looks on me will no longer see me. Your eyes will look for me, but I will be gone.As a cloud fades away and vanishes, so the one who goes down to Sheol will never rise again.He will never return to his house; his hometown will no longer remember him.

They spend their days in prosperity and go down to Sheol in peace.

I will see him myself; my eyes will look at him, and not as a stranger. My heart longs within me.

But a person dies and fades away; he breathes his last— where is he?As water disappears from a lake and a river becomes parched and dry,so people lie down never to rise again. They will not wake up until the heavens are no more; they will not stir from their sleep.

Whatever your hands find to do, do with all your strength, because there is no work, planning, knowledge, or wisdom in Sheol where you are going.

It is a land of blackness like the deepest darkness, gloomy and chaotic, where even the light is like the darkness.”

Why not forgive my sin and pardon my iniquity? For soon I will lie down in the grave. You will eagerly seek me, but I will be gone.
