God may let them rest in a feeling of security, but he is constantly watching all their ways.

He may let them rest in a feeling of security, but his eyes are on their ways.

God might let them rest and feel secure. But his eyes see how they live.

He gives them security, and they are supported, and his eyes are upon their ways.

They may be allowed to live in security, but God is always watching them.

He gives them a sense of security, so they can rely on it, but his eyes watch over their ways.

He provides them with security, and they are supported; And His eyes are on their ways.

The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD’s throne is in heaven. His eyes watch; his eyes examine all people.The LORD approves of the godly, but he hates the wicked and those who love to do violence.

The LORD confirms this oath by the arrogance of Jacob:“ I swear I will never forget all you have done!

When a sentence is not executed at once against a crime, the human heart is encouraged to do evil.

For the ways of a person are in front of the LORD’s eyes, and the LORD weighs all that person’s paths.

For I envied those who are proud, as I observed the prosperity of the wicked.For they suffer no pain; their bodies are strong and well-fed.They are immune to the trouble common to men; they do not suffer as other men do.Arrogance is their necklace, and violence their clothing.Their prosperity causes them to do wrong; their thoughts are sinful.They mock and say evil things; they proudly threaten violence.They speak as if they rule in heaven, and lay claim to the earth.Therefore they have more than enough food to eat, and even suck up the water of the sea.They say,“ How does God know what we do? Is the sovereign one aware of what goes on?”Take a good look! This is what the wicked are like, those who always have it so easy and get richer and richer.

LORD, you have always been fair whenever I have complained to you. However, I would like to speak with you about the disposition of justice. Why are wicked people successful? Why do all dishonest people have such easy lives?You plant them like trees and they put down their roots. They grow prosperous and are very fruitful. They always talk about you, but they really care nothing about you.But you, LORD, know all about me. You watch me and test my devotion to you. Drag these wicked men away like sheep to be slaughtered! Appoint a time when they will be killed!

If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,for you will heap coals of fire on his head, and the LORD will reward you.The north wind brings forth rain, and a gossiping tongue brings forth an angry look.

But if that slave should say to himself,‘ My master is delayed in returning,’ and he begins to beat the other slaves, both men and women, and to eat, drink, and get drunk,

But the tents of robbers are peaceful, and those who provoke God are confident– who carry their god in their hands.

Why does the wicked man reject God? He says to himself,“ You will not hold me accountable.”You have taken notice, for you always see one who inflicts pain and suffering. The unfortunate victim entrusts his cause to you; you deliver the fatherless.

If you see the extortion of the poor, or the perversion of justice and fairness in the government, do not be astonished by the matter. For the high official is watched by a higher official, and there are higher ones over them!

You are too just to tolerate evil; you are unable to condone wrongdoing. So why do you put up with such treacherous people? Why do you say nothing when the wicked devour those more righteous than they are?

For he knows deceitful men; when he sees evil, will he not consider it?

Indeed, he says:“ Are not my officials all kings?Is not Calneh like Carchemish? Hamath like Arpad? Samaria like Damascus?I overpowered kingdoms ruled by idols, whose carved images were more impressive than Jerusalem’s or Samaria’s.As I have done to Samaria and its idols, so I will do to Jerusalem and its idols.”

He then told them a parable:“ The land of a certain rich man produced an abundant crop,so he thought to himself,‘ What should I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’Then he said,‘ I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.And I will say to myself,“ You have plenty of goods stored up for many years; relax, eat, drink, celebrate!”’But God said to him,‘ You fool! This very night your life will be demanded back from you, but who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

Now when they are saying,“ There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction comes on them, like labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will surely not escape.

Even if they could dig down into the netherworld, my hand would pull them up from there. Even if they could climb up to heaven, I would drag them down from there.

Each one says,‘ Come on, I’ll get some wine! Let’s guzzle some beer! Tomorrow will be just like today! We’ll have everything we want!’
