The grave consumes sinners just as drought and heat consume snow.

干旱炎热消没雪水；阴间也如此消没犯罪之辈。

干旱炎热融化雪水；阴间也如此吞没犯罪的人。

干旱炎热融化雪水；阴间也如此吞没犯罪的人。

阴间吞噬犯罪之人，如同干热吞噬融雪。

干旱与炎热怎样消除雪水，阴间也这样除去犯罪的人。

乾旱炎熱消沒雪水；陰間也如此消沒犯罪之輩。

乾旱炎熱融化雪水；陰間也如此吞沒犯罪的人。

乾旱炎熱融化雪水；陰間也如此吞沒犯罪的人。

陰間吞噬犯罪之人，如同乾熱吞噬融雪。

乾旱與炎熱怎樣消除雪水，陰間也這樣除去犯罪的人。

乾旱炎熱奪取了雪水，使它乾涸；陰間也擄了罪惡之輩而使滅沒。

亢旱酷熱、消沒雪水、陰府消沒罪人、

亢陽酷暑、雪水漸消、惡者之入墓、亦若是。

雪水遇亢旱酷熱、立即消涸、有罪者下示阿勒示阿勒見七章九節小註亦若是、

As heat and drought snatch away the melted snow, so the grave snatches away those who have sinned.

Melted snow disappears when the air is hot and dry. And sinners disappear when they go down into their graves.

Drought and heat snatch away the snow waters; so does Sheol those who have sinned.

As dry ground and heat snatch away the melted snow, so Sheol steals those who have sinned.

Dryness and heat snatch away the snow waters, As Sheol snatches those who have sinned.

As drought and heat consume the snow waters, So the grave consumes those who have sinned.

Drought and heat consume the snow waters: So doth Sheol those that have sinned.

As dry ground and heat snatch away the melted snow, so Sheol steals those who have sinned.

Drought and heat consume the snow waters:[ so doth] the grave[ those which] have sinned.

The drought as well as the heat carry away the melted snow; so the grave takes away those who have sinned.

Drought and heat consume the snow waters, so does Sheol those who have sinned.

They spend their days in prosperity, then go down to the grave in peace.

Like sheep, they are led to the grave, where death will be their shepherd. In the morning the godly will rule over them. Their bodies will rot in the grave, far from their grand estates.

Blow them away like smoke. Melt them like wax in a fire. Let the wicked perish in the presence of God.

There is hope only for the living. As they say,“ It’s better to be a live dog than a dead lion!”The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. They have no further reward, nor are they remembered.Whatever they did in their lifetime— loving, hating, envying— is all long gone. They no longer play a part in anything here on earth.

The wicked are crushed by disaster, but the godly have a refuge when they die.

“ But God said to him,‘ You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’

“ Finally, the poor man died and was carried by the angels to sit beside Abraham at the heavenly banquet. The rich man also died and was buried,

One person dies in prosperity, completely comfortable and secure,

When they are carried to the grave, an honor guard keeps watch at their tomb.A great funeral procession goes to the cemetery. Many pay their respects as the body is laid to rest, and the earth gives sweet repose.“ How can your empty clichés comfort me? All your explanations are lies!”

May they be like snails that dissolve into slime, like a stillborn child who will never see the sun.God will sweep them away, both young and old, faster than a pot heats over burning thorns.

My brothers, you have proved as unreliable as a seasonal brook that overflows its banks in the springwhen it is swollen with ice and melting snow.But when the hot weather arrives, the water disappears. The brook vanishes in the heat.
