There are those who rebel against the light; they do not know its ways and they do not stay on its paths.

The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.

“ Others have been with those who rebel against the light; They do not want to know its ways Nor stay in its paths.

“ There are those who rebel against the light; They do not know its ways Nor abide in its paths.

These are of them that rebel against the light; They know not the ways thereof, Nor abide in the paths thereof.

The wicked are those who rebel against the light. They do not recognize its ways or stay on its paths.

Now this is the basis for judging: that the light has come into the world and people loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.For everyone who does evil deeds hates the light and does not come to the light, so that their deeds will not be exposed.

and with every kind of evil deception directed against those who are perishing, because they found no place in their hearts for the truth so as to be saved.Consequently God sends on them a deluding influence so that they will believe what is false.And so all of them who have not believed the truth but have delighted in evil will be condemned.

You also know that the angels who did not keep within their proper domain but abandoned their own place of residence, he has kept in eternal chains in utter darkness, locked up for the judgment of the great Day.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us. But they went out from us to demonstrate that all of them do not belong to us.

The way of the wicked is like gloomy darkness; they do not know what causes them to stumble.

But if you call yourself a Jew and rely on the law and boast of your relationship to Godand know his will and approve the superior things because you receive instruction from the law,and if you are convinced that you yourself are a guide to the blind, a light to those who are in darkness,an educator of the senseless, a teacher of little children, because you have in the law the essential features of knowledge and of the truth–therefore you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law dishonor God by transgressing the law!For just as it is written,“ the name of God is being blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”

That servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or do what his master asked will receive a severe beating.But the one who did not know his master’s will and did things worthy of punishment will receive a light beating. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required, and from the one who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.

there is no one who understands, there is no one who seeks God.All have turned away, together they have become worthless; there is no one who shows kindness, not even one.”“ Their throats are open graves, they deceive with their tongues, the poison of asps is under their lips.”“ Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.”“ Their feet are swift to shed blood,ruin and misery are in their paths,and the way of peace they have not known.”

So whoever knows what is good to do and does not do it is guilty of sin.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. But they no longer have any excuse for their sin.The one who hates me hates my Father too.If I had not performed among them the miraculous deeds that no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen the deeds and have hated both me and my Father.

“ He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, so that they would not see with their eyes and understand with their heart, and turn to me, and I would heal them.”

If anyone does not remain in me, he is thrown out like a branch, and dries up; and such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and are burned up.

Jesus said,]“ For judgment I have come into this world, so that those who do not see may gain their sight, and the ones who see may become blind.”Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard this and asked him,“ We are not blind too, are we?”Jesus replied,“ If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin, but now because you claim that you can see, your guilt remains.”

For if after they have escaped the filthy things of the world through the rich knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they again get entangled in them and succumb to them, their last state has become worse for them than their first.For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than, having known it, to turn back from the holy commandment that had been delivered to them.They are illustrations of this true proverb:“ A dog returns to its own vomit,” and“ A sow, after washing herself, wallows in the mire.”

Jesus replied,“ The light is with you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.

My feet have followed his steps closely; I have kept to his way and have not turned aside.I have not departed from the commands of his lips; I have treasured the words of his mouth more than my allotted portion.

Although they fully know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but also approve of those who practice them.

Then Jesus said to those Judeans who had believed him,“ If you continue to follow my teaching, you are really my disciples

You people are from your father the devil, and you want to do what your father desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not uphold the truth, because there is no truth in him. Whenever he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies.
