我行於前、彼不在焉、我退於後、亦不見之、

乃趨之於前、而彼不見、索之於後、而彼不在、

乃我往東主不在焉、往西不見之、

“ But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him.

If I go east, He is not there, and if I go west, I cannot perceive Him.

Behold, I go forward, but he[ is] not[ there]; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:

“ If I go to the east, he is not there, and to the west, yet I do not perceive him.

“ If I go east, he is not there; if west, I can’t find him;

How much less, then, will he listen when you say that you do not see him, that your case is before him and you must wait for him, (niv)

When he passes me, I cannot see him; when he goes by, I cannot perceive him. (niv)

who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen. (niv)

Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble? (niv)

Truly you are a God who has been hiding himself, the God and Savior of Israel. (niv)

How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? How long will my enemy triumph over me?Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death, (niv)
