You will tell me of rich and wicked people whose houses have vanished because of their sins.

你們問，『權貴的房子如今何在？惡人住的帳篷今在何方？』

You say,‘ Where now is the house of the great, the tents where the wicked lived?’

You are saying to yourselves,‘ Where is the great man’s house now? Where are the tents where his evil family lived?’

For you say,‘ Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’

For you say,“ Where now is the nobleman’s house?” and“ Where are the tents the wicked lived in?”

For you say,‘ Where is the house of the nobleman, And where is the tent, the dwelling places of the wicked?’

For you say,‘ Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent, The dwelling place of the wicked?’

For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent wherein the wicked dwelt?

For you say,“ Where now is the nobleman’s house?” and“ Where are the tents the wicked lived in?”

For ye say, Where[ is] the house of the prince? and where[ are] the dwelling places of the wicked?

For you say,‘ Where now is the nobleman’s house, and where are the tents in which the wicked lived?’

For you say,‘ Where is the house of the prince? Where is the tent in which the wicked lived?’

Those who hate you will be clothed with shame, and the home of the wicked will be destroyed.”

yet they will vanish forever, thrown away like their own dung. Those who knew them will ask,‘ Where are they?’

And this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely using my name. And my curse will remain in that house and completely destroy it— even its timbers and stones.”

But when I looked again, they were gone! Though I searched for them, I could not find them!

“ What sorrow awaits you who build big houses with money gained dishonestly! You believe your wealth will buy security, putting your family’s nest beyond the reach of danger.But by the murders you committed, you have shamed your name and forfeited your lives.The very stones in the walls cry out against you, and the beams in the ceilings echo the complaint.

He owned 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 teams of oxen, and 500 female donkeys. He also had many servants. He was, in fact, the richest person in that entire area.

“ Quick!” he told the people.“ Get away from the tents of these wicked men, and don’t touch anything that belongs to them. Then Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the entrances of their tents, together with their wives and children and little ones.And Moses said,“ This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things that I have done— for I have not done them on my own.If these men die a natural death, or if nothing unusual happens, then the Lord has not sent me.But if the Lord does something entirely new and the ground opens its mouth and swallows them and all their belongings, and they go down alive into the grave, then you will know that these men have shown contempt for the Lord.”He had hardly finished speaking the words when the ground suddenly split open beneath them.The earth opened its mouth and swallowed the men, along with their households and all their followers who were standing with them, and everything they owned.So they went down alive into the grave, along with all their belongings. The earth closed over them, and they all vanished from among the people of Israel.All the people around them fled when they heard their screams.“ The earth will swallow us, too!” they cried.

For I would tell him exactly what I have done. I would come before him like a prince.

But God will strike you down once and for all. He will pull you from your home and uproot you from the land of the living. InterludeThe righteous will see it and be amazed. They will laugh and say,
