Knowest thou[ not] this of old, since man was placed upon earth,

你岂不知亘古以来，自从人生在地，

難道你不知道，從古至今，自從世上有人以來，

你不知亙古以來，自從地上有人以來，

豈不知、亙古以來、自從有人在地上、

爾豈不知伊古以來、置人於世、

豈不聞自生民以來、有古語焉。

豈不知自亙古、自有人在世以來、作惡者歡呼不長、偽善者喜樂不過俄頃、

“ Surely you know how it has been from of old, ever since mankind was placed on the earth,

“ I’m sure you must know how things have always been. They’ve been that way ever since human beings were placed on this earth.

Do you not know this from of old, since man was placed on earth,

“ Don’t you realize that from the beginning of time, ever since people were first placed on the earth,

Don’t you know that ever since antiquity, from the time a human was placed on earth,

Do you know this from ancient times, From the establishment of mankind on earth,

“ Do you not know this of old, Since man was placed on earth,

Knowest thou not this of old time, Since man was placed upon earth,

Don’t you know that ever since antiquity, from the time man was placed on earth,

“ Surely you know that it has been from old, ever since humankind was placed on the earth,

Don’t you know this from old time, since man was placed on earth,

I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.

For enquire, I pray thee, of the former age, and prepare thyself to the search of their fathers:( For we[ are but of] yesterday, and know nothing, because our days upon earth[ are] a shadow:)

And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth[ upon] the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

The heaven,[ even] the heavens,[ are] the LORD’S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

With us[ are] both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.
