This is why my unsettling thoughts compel me to answer, because I am upset!

Therefore do my thoughts cause me to answer, and for[ this] I make haste.

“ This is why my troubled thoughts bring me back– because of my feelings within me.

“ Therefore my thoughts answer me, even by reason of my haste that is in me.

Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.

I’ve had to endure your insults, but now my spirit prompts me to reply.

Who can argue with me over this? And if you prove me wrong, I will remain silent and die.

I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal.

In panic I cried out,“ I am cut off from the Lord!” But you heard my cry for mercy and answered my call for help.

So the girl hurried back to the king and told him,“ I want the head of John the Baptist, right now, on a tray!”

Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.

In my anxiety I cried out to you,“ These people are all liars!”

People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

There is more hope for a fool than for someone who speaks without thinking.

“ Will you be patient and let me say a word? For who could keep from speaking out?

And don’t tell me,‘ He is too wise for us. Only God can convince him.’If Job had been arguing with me, I would not answer with your kind of logic!You sit there baffled, with nothing more to say.Should I continue to wait, now that you are silent? Must I also remain silent?No, I will say my piece. I will speak my mind.For I am full of pent up words, and the spirit within me urges me on.I am like a cask of wine without a vent, like a new wineskin ready to burst!I must speak to find relief, so let me give my answers.

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!

But as I stood there in silence— not even speaking of good things— the turmoil within me grew worse.The more I thought about it, the hotter I got, igniting a fire of words:
