拿着坚盾傲慢地挑战祂。

用盾牌的厚凸面，硬着颈项向他直闯。

挺着頸項，用盾牌的厚凸面向全能者直闖；

挺着頸項，用盾牌堅厚的凸面向全能者直闖；

挺着頸項，用盾牌堅厚的凸面向全能者直闖；

拿著堅盾傲慢地挑戰祂。

用盾牌的厚凸面，硬著頸項向他直闖。

挺着脖子、向全能者直闖，用盾牌的厚凸面自衛着；

彼強厥項、以厚盾衝突之、

挺身馳突、以厚盾自衛。

挺身前趨、取厚盾以敵之、

defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield.

They boldly charge against him with their thick, strong shields.

Holding their strong shields, they defiantly charge against him.

He rushes headlong at him with his thick, studded shields.

He rushes headlong at Him With his massive shield.

Running stubbornly against Him With his strong, embossed shield.

He runneth upon him with a stiff neck, With the thick bosses of his bucklers;

He rushes headlong at Him with his thick, studded shields.

He runneth upon him,[ even] on[ his] neck, upon the thick bosses of his bucklers:

defiantly charging against him with a thick, strong shield!

he runs at him with a stiff neck, with the thick shields of his bucklers,

I was at ease, and he broke me apart; he seized me by the neck and dashed me to pieces; he set me up as his target;

Do you not know what I and my fathers have done to all the peoples of other lands? Were the gods of the nations of those lands at all able to deliver their lands out of my hand?Who among all the gods of those nations that my fathers devoted to destruction was able to deliver his people from my hand, that your God should be able to deliver you from my hand?Now, therefore, do not let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you in this fashion, and do not believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my hand or from the hand of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you out of my hand!’”And his servants said still more against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah.And he wrote letters to cast contempt on the Lord, the God of Israel, and to speak against him, saying,“ Like the gods of the nations of the lands who have not delivered their people from my hands, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver his people from my hand.”

You made my enemies turn their backs to me, and those who hated me I destroyed.

“ Judah, your brothers shall praise you; your hand shall be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down before you.

In the time of his distress he became yet more faithless to the Lord— this same King Ahaz.
