被王侯以羞恥、釋倔強者之帶、

民牧則黜其位、豪強則弛其力。

He pours contempt on nobles and disarms the mighty.

He looks down on proud leaders. He takes away the strength of those who are mighty.

He pours contempt on princes and loosens the belt of the strong.

He pours disgrace upon princes and disarms the strong.

He pours out contempt on nobles and disarms the strong.

The Lord of hosts has purposed it, To bring to dishonor the pride of all glory, To bring into contempt all the honorable of the earth.

It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord will punish on high the host of exalted ones, And on the earth the kings of the earth.They will be gathered together, As prisoners are gathered in the pit, And will be shut up in the prison; After many days they will be punished.

‘ Surely I saw yesterday the blood of Naboth and the blood of his sons,’ says the Lord,‘ and I will repay you in this plot,’ says the Lord. Now therefore, take and throw him on the plot of ground, according to the word of the Lord.”

Then, being divinely warned in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed for their own country another way.Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying,“ Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness,

Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, And faithfulness the belt of His waist.

I will clothe him with your robe And strengthen him with your belt; I will commit your responsibility into his hand. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem And to the house of Judah.

No one will be weary or stumble among them, No one will slumber or sleep; Nor will the belt on their loins be loosed, Nor the strap of their sandals be broken;

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him.

And when he had gone in, he ate and drank. Then he said,“ Go now, see to this accursed woman, and bury her, for she was a king’s daughter.”So they went to bury her, but they found no more of her than the skull and the feet and the palms of her hands.Therefore they came back and told him. And he said,“ This is the word of the Lord, which He spoke by His servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying,‘ On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs shall eat the flesh of Jezebel;and the corpse of Jezebel shall be as refuse on the surface of the field, in the plot at Jezreel, so that they shall not say,“ Here lies Jezebel.”’”

Then immediately an angel of the Lord struck him, because he did not give glory to God. And he was eaten by worms and died.

So they laid it up till morning, as Moses commanded; and it did not stink, nor were there any worms in it.
