“ No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

爾曹為民、無疑也、智慧將與爾偕亡、

爾豈人中之俊乎、爾曹若死、宇宙間豈無哲人哉。

爾為民中俊者、無疑也、爾以為若死、智慧遂同死、或作爾豈民中之俊乎爾曹若死智慧亦死乎

“ Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you!

“ You people think you are the only ones who matter! You are sure that wisdom will die with you!

“ No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

“ You people really know everything, don’t you? And when you die, wisdom will die with you!

No doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you!

“ Truly then you are the people, And with you wisdom will die!

“ No doubt you are the people, And wisdom will die with you!

No doubt but ye are the people, And wisdom shall die with you.

“ Without a doubt you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

For you have hidden their heart from understanding, Therefore you will not exalt them.

I said,‘ Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’But there is a spirit in man, and the Spirit of the Almighty gives them understanding.It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.Therefore I said,‘ Listen to me; I also will show my opinion.’“ Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.Beware lest you say,‘ We have found wisdom. God may refute him, not man;’

“ Teach me, and I will hold my peace. Cause me to understand my error.How forcible are words of uprightness! But your reproof, what does it reprove?

I have heard the reproof which puts me to shame. The spirit of my understanding answers me.

“ Please inquire of past generations. Find out about the learning of their fathers.( For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because our days on earth are a shadow.)Shall they not teach you, tell you, and utter words out of their heart?

But as for you all, come back. I will not find a wise man among you.

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!

I say this to move you to shame. Isn’t there even one wise man among you who would be able to decide between his brothers?

that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

“ Should a wise man answer with vain knowledge, and fill himself with the east wind?

We are fools for Christ’s sake, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You have honor, but we have dishonor.

The rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor who has understanding sees through him.

“ Shouldn’t the multitude of words be answered? Should a man full of talk be justified?

An empty- headed man becomes wise when a man is born as a wild donkey’s colt.
