He leads rulers away stripped and makes fools of judges.

He removes the wisdom of rulers and leads them away. He makes judges look foolish.

He leads counselors away stripped, and judges he makes fools.

He leads counselors away, stripped of good judgment; wise judges become fools.

He leads counselors away barefoot and makes judges go mad.

He makes advisers walk barefoot And makes fools of judges.

He leadeth counsellors away stripped, And judges maketh he fools.

Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed, he saddled a donkey, and arose and went home to his house, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died; and he was buried in his father’s tomb.

Then someone told David, saying,“ Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” And David said,“ O Lord, I pray, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness!”

The earth is given into the hand of the wicked. He covers the faces of its judges. If it is not He, who else could it be?

With kings and counselors of the earth, Who built ruins for themselves,

So Absalom and all the men of Israel said,“ The advice of Hushai the Archite is better than the advice of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had purposed to defeat the good advice of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring disaster on Absalom.

Where are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, And let them know what the Lord of hosts has purposed against Egypt.The princes of Zoan have become fools; The princes of Noph are deceived; They have also deluded Egypt, Those who are the mainstay of its tribes.The Lord has mingled a perverse spirit in her midst; And they have caused Egypt to err in all her work, As a drunken man staggers in his vomit.

For it is written:“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
