父母之作此語、以懾於猶太人耳。蓋猶太人時已有成議、有敢認耶穌為基督者、必開除其教籍；

有亞利瑪大人若瑟者、私淑耶穌、以畏猶太人故、迄未敢公然事之；至是乃具稟比辣多、欲領耶穌遺體；比辣多既准、乃來收屍。

一婢見其面火坐、注視之曰：『此人從耶穌。』伯鐸祿不承曰：『女子、吾不識彼人。』無何、又一人見之曰：『汝亦彼黨。』伯鐸祿曰：『君誤矣！吾非彼黨。』閱一時許、更有人堅言曰：『此人確為彼黨、亦加利利人也。』伯鐸祿曰：『吾實不知君之所云。』言未已而雞鳴矣。主回顧伯鐸祿、伯鐸祿方憶主所語今宵雞鳴前、行見爾三背予之言、

餘眾不敢雜廁其中、然而民益敬之、

復召之至、如議戒之；

奉派者既返、司祭長及法利塞人詰之曰：『何為未攜之同來？』奉派者曰：『人之論道、未有如斯人之所言者也！』法利塞人曰：『得毋爾曹亦受其熒惑乎！夫薦紳先生、及法利塞人有信之者乎？惟彼眾庶、昧於律法、其亦可詛也已！』尼閣德睦即暮夜晉謁耶穌者、當時亦在其間、乃謂之曰：『未先聽訟、一究其所行、吾法豈能遽加以罪乎？』法利塞人應之曰：『汝亦加利利人耶？汝試一檢群經、應知加利利非出先知之地也！』

是為週首。既暮、諸徒以懼猶太人故、共聚一室、諸戶緊扃。而耶穌進立其中曰：『賜爾平安！』

然官紳中亦頗有信耶穌者、惟礙於法利塞人、故不敢公然認之、恐被逐於會堂也。蓋若輩之愛慕人爵、有甚乎天爵者焉。

吾友乎、予語爾、彼僅能殺人之身、而餘無能為者、不足畏也。予今告爾、孰當畏者、既殺其身、而又能投之於地獄者、斯足畏焉。予勸爾畏之。五雀非售二分銀乎？然在天主之前、固無一雀被遺忘也。即爾頭上之髮、亦莖莖有數。毋事憂懼爾固貴於群雀也。予語爾凡認予於人前者、人子亦必認之於天主之眾天神前。其不認予於人前者、亦不被認於天主眾神之前也。

惟伯鐸祿至安提阿時、有過、予曾面斥之。蓋有人來自雅各伯、當其未至伯鐸祿與外邦人同食；及其既至、彼乃逡巡引退、離群索居、惟恐受割禮者之誹己也。其餘猶太人、相率效尤、即巴拿巴亦被虛偽之風所靡。

主是我明德。何所用惕惕。主是我恩保。誰能褫我魄。惡逆徒洶洶。但見其傾蹶。

凡懦怯無志、狐疑不信、放僻邪侈、殺人縱淫、妖術惑眾、崇拜偶像、荒誕無稽之徒、皆當投入硫火池中；是為二次之死。」
