They kept demanding an answer, so he stood up again and said,“ All right, but let the one who has never sinned throw the first stone!”

When they persisted in questioning him, he stood up and said to them,“ The one without sin among you should be the first to throw a stone at her.”

When they persisted in asking Him, He straightened up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him be the first to throw a stone at her.”

So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them,“ He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”

But when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

You who abhor idols, do you rob temples?You who boast in the law, do you dishonor God by breaking the law?As it is written:“ God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”Circumcision has value if you observe the law, but if you break the law, you have become as though you had not been circumcised. You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.Now we know that God’s judgment against those who do such things is based on truth.So when you, a mere human being, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God’s judgment? On the testimony of two or three witnesses a person is to be put to death, but no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness.The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting that person to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you. (niv)

“ Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean.“ Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean.In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. (niv)

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. (niv)

But to the wicked person, God says:“ What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips?You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you.When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers.You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit.You sit and testify against your brother and slander your own mother’s son. Do not answer a fool according to his folly, or you yourself will be just like him.Answer a fool according to his folly, or he will be wise in his own eyes. (niv)

In his right hand he held seven stars, and coming out of his mouth was a sharp, double- edged sword. His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance. (niv)

Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations.“ He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. (niv)

The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. (niv)

But if an unbeliever or an inquirer comes in while everyone is prophesying, they are convicted of sin and are brought under judgment by all,as the secrets of their hearts are laid bare. So they will fall down and worship God, exclaiming,“ God is really among you!” (niv)
