尼克迪莫又问：“怎么能有这些事呢？”

尼克迪莫问：“人老了，怎么能出生呢？他难道能再进母腹又出生吗？”

于是那些犹太人彼此争论，说：“这个人怎么能把自己的肉身给我们吃呢？”

众人回答他：“我们从律法中听到，基督是永远长存的。你怎么说‘人子必须被举起来’呢？这‘人子’到底是谁？”

不过一个属血气的人不接受属神的灵的这些事，因为对他来说，这些是愚拙的；他也不能明白，因为这些事要用属灵的方式才能洞察。

这时候，一些犹太人因为耶稣说‘我是从天上降下来的粮’，就私下议论他，

于是他的门徒当中有的彼此问：“他对我们说‘过一会儿，你们就看不到我了；再过一会儿，你们又将见到我’，还说‘是因为我要到父那里去’，这是什么意思呢？”他们又说：“他说的‘过一会儿’是什么意思呢？我们不明白他在说什么。”

他的门徒当中有许多人听了，就说：“这话实在严厉，谁能听呢？”
