The person who speaks on his own authority desires to receive honor for himself; the one who desires the honor of the one who sent him is a man of integrity, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.

“ I do not accept praise from people,

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.Do not give offense to Jews or Greeks or to the church of God,just as I also try to please everyone in all things. I do not seek my own benefit, but the benefit of many, so that they may be saved.

When Jesus heard this, he said,“ This sickness will not lead to death, but to God’s glory, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

Jesus answered,“ I am not possessed by a demon, but I honor my Father– and yet you dishonor me.I am not trying to get praise for myself. There is one who demands it, and he also judges.

Those who want to make a good showing in external matters are trying to force you to be circumcised. They do so only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.For those who are circumcised do not obey the law themselves, but they want you to be circumcised so that they can boast about your flesh.But may I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

Whoever speaks, let it be with God’s words. Whoever serves, do so with the strength that God supplies, so that in everything God will be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.Each of you should be concerned not only about your own interests, but about the interests of others as well.You should have the same attitude toward one another that Christ Jesus had,

So pray this way: Our Father in heaven, may your name be honored,

So they came to John and said to him,“ Rabbi, the one who was with you on the other side of the Jordan River, about whom you testified– see, he is baptizing, and everyone is flocking to him!”John replied,“ No one can receive anything unless it has been given to him from heaven.You yourselves can testify that I said,‘ I am not the Christ,’ but rather,‘ I have been sent before him.’The one who has the bride is the bridegroom. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven,“ I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

When Judas had gone out, Jesus said,“ Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.If God is glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him right away.

Turn from your burning anger, and relent of this evil against your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself and told them,‘ I will multiply your descendants like the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken about I will give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’”

nor to seek glory from people, either from you or from others,

Jesus replied,“ If I glorify myself, my glory is worthless. The one who glorifies me is my Father, about whom you people say,‘ He is our God.’

Moses said to him,“ Are you jealous for me? I wish that all the LORD’s people were prophets, that the LORD would put his Spirit on them!”

I glorified you on earth by completing the work you gave me to do.And now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory I had with you before the world was created.

It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable for people to seek their own glory.
