After the people saw the sign Jesus performed, they began to say,“ Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

The people saw the sign that Jesus did. Then they began to say,“ This must be the Prophet who is supposed to come into the world.”

When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said,“ This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world!”

When the people saw him do this miraculous sign, they exclaimed,“ Surely, he is the Prophet we have been expecting!”

When the people saw the sign he had done, they said,“ This truly is the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Therefore when the people saw the sign which He had performed, they said,“ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Then those men, when they had seen the sign that Jesus did, said,“ This is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

Now when the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus performed, they began to say to one another,“ This is certainly the Prophet who is to come into the world.”

When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said,“ This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”

众人说：“这就是从加利利的拿撒勒来的先知耶稣。”

问耶稣：“将要来的那一位就是你吗？还是我们应该等候别人呢？”

众人听了这话，有些人说：“这个人确实是那位先知！”

他们又问：“那么你是谁呢？是以利亚吗？”他说：“我不是。”“是那位先知吗？”他回答：“不是。”

权杖必不离开犹大，王杖必不离他两脚之间，直到“细罗”来到，万民都要归顺他。

妇人对他说：“先生，我看出你是先知！

“这个人就是摩西，他曾告诉以色列子民：‘神将要从你们兄弟中给你们兴起一位先知，像兴起我一样。’

他们告诉那妇人说：“现在我们信，不再是因为你的话，而是因为我们亲耳听到了，并且知道这一位真是世界的救主。”

妇人说：“我知道那称为基督的弥赛亚要来。他来的时候，就会把一切都传讲给我们。”

摩西确实说过：‘主——你们的神，将要从你们兄弟中给你们兴起一位先知，像兴起我一样。他对你们所说的一切，你们都要听从。所有不听从那位先知的人，都要从民中被全然灭绝。’“其实从撒母耳以来所有的先知，只要说预言，都同样地预告了这些日子。

耶稣问他们：“什么事呢？”他们对他说：“就是有关拿撒勒人耶稣的事。这个人是一位先知，在神和全体民众面前说话行事都有能力。

每个人敬畏不已，就不住地荣耀神，说：“我们中间兴起了一位伟大的先知！”又说：“神临到他的子民了！”
