婦人乃舍瓶入城、而告眾曰：

請耶穌的法利賽人看見這事，心裏說：「這人若是先知，一定知道摸他的是誰，是個怎樣的女人；她是個罪人哪！」

因為那時門徒進城買食物去了。撒瑪利亞婦人對他說：「你是猶太人，怎麼向我一個撒瑪利亞女人要水喝呢？」因為猶太人和撒瑪利亞人沒有來往。
