That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

People give birth to people. But the Spirit gives birth to spirit.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the Holy Spirit gives birth to spiritual life.

Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit.

I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh;that they may walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

How then can man be just with God? Or how can he who is born of a woman be clean?

Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? Not one.

For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

We also all once lived among them in the lusts of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.

The first man is of the earth, made of dust. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts.

I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.
