So they asked him,“ You aren’t one of his disciples too, are you?” He denied it, saying,“ I am not.”One of the high priest’s servants, a relative of the man whose ear Peter had cut off, challenged him,“ Didn’t I see you with him in the garden?”Again Peter denied it, and at that moment a rooster began to crow. “ Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat.But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” (niv)

“ But what about you?” he asked.“ Who do you say I am?”Simon Peter answered,“ You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” (niv)

When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,“ Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?”“ Yes, Lord,” he said,“ you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my lambs.”Again Jesus said,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” He answered,“ Yes, Lord, you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Take care of my sheep.”The third time he said to him,“ Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time,“ Do you love me?” He said,“ Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said,“ Feed my sheep.
