我正在觀看，就看見有些寶座設立着，有一位壽高年邁者就席坐着；他的衣服皎白如雪，他的頭髮如純淨的羊毛；他的寶座乃是火燄；其輪子是燒着的烈火。

他去的時候，他們正定睛望天看時、忽有兩個人穿着白衣、站在他們旁邊，

並且我們中間有幾個婦女、也真地使我們驚奇；她們清早在墳墓那裏；見不着耶穌的身體，就來，說她們竟看見了天使的顯象；天使說耶穌還活着。

不過你還有多少名在撒狄、沒有使衣裳沾染污穢的；他們必穿白衣，跟我同行、因為他們是配得的。

她們就進去，卻沒有看見身體。正為這事為難的時候，忽然有兩個人站在她們旁邊，穿着閃爍的衣服。她們很懼怕，就屈身將臉伏地；那兩個人對她們說：『為甚麼在死人中找活人呢？你們要想起耶穌還在加利利時怎樣對你們講過：人子必須被送交在罪人手裏，被釘十字架，第三天復起。』

忽然地大震動；因為有主的一個使者從天上下來，走上前去，把石頭輥開，坐在上面。他的像貌如同閃電，他的衣服白得像雪。由於怕他的緣故，看守的人都發抖震顫，像死人一般。天使應時對婦女說：『別懼怕了！我知道你們是尋找那釘十字架的耶穌的。

我對他說：『我主，你是知道的；我不知道。』他對我說：『這些人是從那大苦難中出來的；他們曾在羔羊血中把他們的袍子洗到白白。

在他們面前變了形質：他的臉面發光像日頭，他的衣裳變白如光一樣。
